The Democrats need to take a good long hard look at themselves. They need to come back to the center on issues. Stop making abortions the main issue. Stop pushing radical agendas. Get back to focusing on issues that affect the country as a whole, and not just certain people groups. They have themselves to blame for trying to make history instead of prepping the next person to run. Biden initially said he was only going to run for one term. During those 4 years, they should have been ready. If they wanted to run Kamala, fine, but there should have been a choice. I think they convinced Biden to run again, because they knew he was the only person that could beat Trump since he did it the first time.
I will say this though, it seems that the only way for Trump to win an election is to run against a woman.

Biden’s ego. He said I will be a one term president. He went against that word. I would not be surprised if Biden is not that upset today.
I don’t think it was his ego. I honestly believe the Democrats begged him to run out of fear of losing to Trump. I could be wrong, but I believe that’s what happened.

They have gone hard left on issues. It’s one thing to try to look out for citizens that choose to live a certain lifestyle, but you shouldn’t build your entire campaign on it.

That being said, Trump didn’t win on issues. He couldn’t formulate a response based upon policy, well, maybe ever.
This election and 2016 shows that the US will vote for literally anyone other than a woman, much less a black woman. Also, there is a vast population of remarkably weak men who think that a 2nd grade bully is the idea of masculinity or a guy who spends 2 hours on his hair and makeup is a real man.
Fact is, Trump is the weakest human I might have ever seen.
I think we pull out of NATO. I think we fund Russia’s invasions with weaponry. I think the new Axis of Evil is Russia, NK, Iran, China and us. I think we have a deep recession by 2026, late in the year. I don’t think our votes will count again for a very long time. I think Trump will invent new cabinet positions and essentially dismantle the govt pretty quickly. I think we have detention camps, mass roundups, no freedom of the press or academic freedom, no freedom of speech, and he doesn’t leave until he dies. Terms mean nothing anymore. Votes won’t count.
Orban and Putin outlined how to do this. It’s right in the open for everyone to see. Trump has done nothing but praise them from day one.

I agree with a lot of this. They lose a lot of the blue collar folks that would vote Dem when they push trans rights, gender ideology, and talk abortion all the time.
That and try to control the border without a hollow attempt at the last minute for PR purposes and you’d have a good start.
And stop demonizing the other side and pretending to be the party of unity. Stop being condescending to the rural folks and and flyover America. Stop using celebrities as your message bearers. You come with the elitist attitude and you shouldn’t be surprised when people from all backgrounds say I’m done with you.

I think they are in the center on most issues. We really don’t have a left wing party in the US. We have strands in the Democratic party who are left wing, but it’s mostly center line. Trump’s MAGA is hard right in every instance. Unless we create and entirely new chart, there isn’t a debate.
I think, instead, the Democrats need to fuck off with the identity politics and go back to being the party of labor. Being singularly focused on a myriad of identities that all seem to tell you to fuck off if you don’t cater to their every need is a fruitless cause. Admit when shit is weird when its weird. Also, stop pretending there aren’t actual issues because they implicate a specific identity you’re trying to defend at all costs.

I did not think trump would win again. He is flawed in every way. No person has been more disgusting as a candidate. He has zero morals. He is so out of bounds and that is why I say trump will not be duplicated. No other politician could pull off what he has. Trump is a con man. He knew the key points that the right would fall in line…1) judges on the court, 2) taxes, 3) fear - number 3 is so important to their success. It’s usually the Dems will take away your Bible or guns. Next up was Gays…after that was Al Queda they are coming to get you. Now it’s Mexicans crossing the border and taking your job. Would like to know one person who on this site lost out of a job to a Mexican. Now was the fear of cream cheese and gas prices. They don’t run on policies. Fear…when Dems win it is hope or change. Problem was Kamala was a major flawed candidate attached to Biden and inflation. She was not good. Dems were forced to choose her and I feel many turned away. Trump has two years to get shit done. He will cut taxes again but outside of that he won’t get a thing done. Good luck rounding up 15 million people and shipping them out. Everyone is for immigration reformput on trains and shipped out. It will go down as the biggest failure - just wait. Republicans were going to build a wall and have Mexico pay for it. There has been like 3-4 trans men who have played sports. One in volleyball and no one has played against him. Skeeter won’t believe me but I don’t care.
