This is a good article about coaches needing to be more positive than in the past. Manny I believe is in this group of positive coaches.
Look - just from a risk perspective - these coaches can’t be like they were in the past.
You’re one hidden video and tweet away from a lawsuit.
And it’s sad because while I think a coach SHOULD BE positive most of the time - there are certainly moments where a hard ass is needed.
I remember in high school - I watched one of my coaches slam a kid in full pads in the middle of 2 a days in front of the entire team. Full pads, 270 pounds, picked up a kid and slammed him because he wouldn’t stop laughing in the middle of a drill.
As shitty as that was… and I’m not condoning it, no one ever laughed during a serious practice again.
