We don’t really know what happened to Damar Hamlin last night. Could be a lot of things; a freak trauma to the heart from the routine-looking tackle, an undiagnosed heart issue a la Chuck Hughes and Hank Gathers, an aneurysm or a vaccine injury. Something else?
He seems like a great kid, not a F up like some of these knuckleheads like Watson are. Went to Catholic high school near Pittsburgh, went to Pitt, earned a starting job in Buffalo, active in doing good for the community, etc. I imagine Miami recruited him as he was a top prep player in PA 6 years ago. He played against us although I don’t recall him.

He grew up about 10 minutes from where I live right now.
I was at the Pitt hoops game last night and they did a nice little tribute to him on the scoreboard.
Hope he makes it…He and Paris Ford (both local kids here in the city) were a very good starting safety tandem at Pitt. Miami made a play for Ford late at an all star game, but he stayed with Pitt… and would have been drafted if not for some off field stuff, he is not he Rams practice squad I believe. As they were coming up HS then at Pitt…Hamlin was always known as a pretty good kid while Ford had some issues.
I also know someone near the Bills organization who says he always hears good things about Hamlin.
