Sometimes you still need an Old School Coach who knows when to hand the ball off, knows when to punt, knows when to take the 3, and knows how to win a BLOODBATH.
What a war.

Well said
With all the heavies he recruits, we’re well equipped for these types of games.
A playoff win is great publicity for this team. Maybe after this year and last, we’ve shaken off our horrendous post-season history.
Maybe this takes a little of the steam out of the Cristobal sucks crowd. I hope so. I don’t think he’s a bad coach at all. He has his faults but I like going to war with him.
If only he knew how to take timeouts…
I still don’t understand why he didn’t call one there at the end when it was obvious the DL was getting gassed with the ATM temp. he had all 3 of his timeouts left. Take one, talk it over, and let them rest a sec. maybe get some oxygen? Maybe slow down ATms offense .
cristobal earned credit in the bank with me for this win.
on the other hand, i hope somebody takes Dawson off our hands. the man drives me nuts
Mario has always gotten a bad rap. He gets ripped for his record at fiu which is stupid. He should be commended for his fiu stint. They had never been to a bowl game till he got there. That roster was awful when he took over. One of the worst i have ever seen.
He goes to Oregon and they won the PAC 12. Something Lanning never did. He did very well at Oregon.
He goes to Miami where they had not won squat since 2001. He gets there and wants to rebuild the entire program and gut it. Instead of taking the easy route and just rebuild through the portal- mario took the harder route and built it inside out. He knows the OL/DL and QB position are the most important areas of the team. Miami may have the best OL and DL in college football. He has gotten the QB position right as well. He understands that HS recruiting is still key…Fletcher, Toney, Mauioga, Bain, Bissainthe…he had a plan and for those who were not patient he upset them.
My only beef is they like to play within the margins. Today it worked out….you cant continue to win by one score or be in games that close all the time.
