Fire The Whole Defense

All of them. This is worse than Clemson.

Diaz should be fired if he does not get rid of Baker and this defensive staff.

FBS rushing record. that is unbelievable.

Reminds me of ALMOST faking it through an entire season with Rosier at qb…and aside from the Clemson game, this defense, sporting the worst LB play in the last 40 years (at least), almost made it before being severely exposed. Yes, we beat up on the tomato cans, fought tooth and nail with the middle of the pack, and got destroyed by a powerhouse and a team with some NFL talent. Oh…and signing day is Wednesday.

Muschamp for DC

He has to go… but it’s not going to happen. Watch. This is what happens at Miami… they’re more loyal to their boys than the program.

I got to believe Baker and Rumph are gone after the bowl game.

If Manny does not fire Baker and Rumph by sunset tomorrow, he is no better than Golden, placing friendships above the program. He will have earned his firing at the end of next year…

Easy call on the DC firing. Shouldn’t even be a question.

The problem is like Golden, Baker is really just executing Manny’s system.

Golden wanted a 34 which is extremely hard to have in college.

Manny want’s his gambling defense that just doesn’t work against quality opponents.

Can Manny transition into a HC that lets his coordinators run the systems while he recruits and helps develop players.?

I think Manny’s system is highly effective when he or someone competent is running it.

As you said, it’s a “gambling defense” and like any gamble, you have to know when to take those shots. There’s a feel to it.

If Manny doesn’t can him he should just run it himself. He’s done it before.

If Manny has to do that, then he doesn’t need him.

I honestly don’t see an argument for keeping Manny even if he fires them all. We are a very poorly coached team and that’s all on him.

Unfortunately 8-2 precludes a Diaz firing at this point, delaying the inevitable.

Unless the wheels truly fall off the bus on Dec 16, this team likely continues to improve talent wise. Now can the staff get improved to get the most of the talent. I’ll go out on a limb and say that the ‘22 class and ‘23 class likely continue to land elite kids mostly due to Covid not giving kids a ton of landing spots.

That said: I would fire Rumph today and Baker Dec 17. Anything less than firing Rumph means Manny is gone at some point due to poor Defensive coaching.

It’s so funny. If you go to the Gator boards, they’re saying the exact same things about Mullen and Grantham their DC. I know we’d take Mullen in a heartbeat but their fans are already comparing him to McElwain, saying SEC east titles are not the bar for them. They say that Mullen will have no less now than three defeats and that’s with the best QB he’s probably going to have. I guess their fans thought the NC was a possibility this year? That O of theirs covered up their D woes. Guy throws an opponent’s shoe to extend an LSU drive at the end that beats them.

It is eye opening that Kyle Pitts, probably their best player, was held out by Mullen because they wanted to save him for Alabama. WOW! The 23 point favorite last night must have thought LSU wouldn’t show up.

Yesterday’s loss sucked. Big time.

Still, I’d rather lose like that than lose because one of our players lobbed an opponent’s shoe down the field.
