What’s the deal with Flip Carswell aside from having an appropriate nickname? I’ve not been able to find much information about this kid other than he is huge and took up football only recently. He was on his HS basketball team, but played only sparingly. However, basketball players I think have to have more dexterous skills than do football players. I have always believed that there are a lot of power forwards in both high schools and colleges that should have chosen football over basketball…
Flip did attend a camp at Clemson but received no scholarship offers. Hopefully, Manny has discovered another diamond in the rough. After all, who expected Zion Nelson to turn out to be a pro-prospect. Nice to think that the Hurricanes are actually “developing” some athletes. Flip certainly doesn’t have to gain much weight as did Zion; he’s already huge. I saw a picture of him, and he didn’t look fat and has a large frame.
