Faculty complain about Cristobol salary

Wasn’t a lot of this “non Miami” money that came from Board member donations? What’s their problem? Or am I misinformed on this?

That’s my understanding - still - an argument can be made for helping these folks out if UM isn’t forking over money for his salary directly.

At the end of the day though, that’s the reality we’re in.

Profs are overpaid, can’t be fired and 90% of them suck.

If the unionized faculty is so concerned about how UM spends money, perhaps they should
focus on the costs associated with having a million redundant administrators, diversity officers and the like.

Universities ignore costs because the existence of guaranteed student loans enables them to endlessly raise tuition.

Frenk makes about 2M/year, that seems like a lot for what is largely a ceremonial role.

A lot of these costs are ultimately paid for by taxpayers via guaranteed student loans, grants, etc.

The profits generated by having a winning football team will more than pay for Mario’s salary.

Stop it Stork. Your post makes too much sense. Enough of that poppycock! :smirk:

Eh, if I was the faculty I’d complain too.

No matter what your job is or how much you get paid, if you have benefits or compensation removed because of the pandemic, and it’s been 8 or 9 months, and then you see big money getting spent, you’re gonna complain. I’m sure they were complaining before Cristobal too.
