Why would a man, who’s an absolute perfectionist, take $44 billion of his wealth to involve himself in a company that, for at least the near term will be embroiled in chaos and unprofitable.
It may even collapse if enough celebrities and brands abandon it.
Elon Musk’s present situation with Twitter is not demonstrably different than the one Zuckerberg faced at FB. Zuckerberg realized that FB had hundreds of millions potential customers, so he devised ways to monetize the business. Elon will do the same thing creating avenues to increase revenue. Once Elon succeeds in so doing, he’ll retain a controlling number of company shares, and then float the remainder of the shares in a public offering which will not only pay back his purchase price but leave him with a stake in the company that will make him even wealthier. I see no reason why Twitter could not easily be turned into a one hundred billion dollar enterprise. When the ipo shares are announced, I will be a likely buyer.
