It is perhaps noblesse oblige on my part attempting to clue-in nutters on this board (I love the British term “nutters.”},so I continue my Sysyphean task of explaining who is to blame for the war in Ukraine. To this end, I submit a post made by Twitter celebrity Kanekoa the Great, who despite his ridiculous pseudonym, is a smart fellow. You’ll recall, I repeatedly pointed your attention to the particularly sublime articles of Doug Magregor, only to be trashed by you, the nutters, as being a Russia lover. Somehow, the concept of Russia being our eternal enemy has been cemented by propagandists into the hearts of many Americans.
You could have just typed Qanon pushing Russian propagandist defends Russia, to save the read.
The entire concept is NATO pushed east so Russia just had to attack sovereign nations. When, in reality, NATO was built on the following principles
- Collective Defense: The primary purpose of NATO is to provide collective defense to its member countries. This is based on the principle of Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which states that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all. This means that if one NATO member is attacked, the other members are committed to coming to its defense, as demonstrated after the 9/11 attacks when NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in its history.
- Promoting Stability and Security: NATO works to promote security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area by deterring potential threats and addressing security challenges, including cyber threats, terrorism, and weapons proliferation. It also engages in crisis management and peacekeeping operations around the world.
- Cooperation and Partnership: NATO promotes cooperation among its members and with partner countries and organizations. It encourages dialogue, joint exercises, and collaboration on defense and security issues, seeking to strengthen the security environment and prevent conflicts. NATO also has partnerships with countries outside its membership, such as in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as with non-member countries in Eastern Europe.
- Promoting Democratic Values: NATO is committed to upholding democratic values, including respect for human rights, the rule of law, and individual freedoms. It encourages the spread of democratic principles and helps new or aspiring members align with these values through cooperation and support.
- Crisis Management: NATO plays a role in responding to crises, including conflict resolution, peacekeeping, and humanitarian efforts. It has conducted operations in regions such as Afghanistan, the Balkans, and Libya, where it has worked to stabilize areas after conflict, protect civilians, and help rebuild institutions.
Nothing in there says we’re built to fight Russia, only that Russia the main aggressor against sovereign nations and against democracy as a whole. Again, Russia’s actions provoke a NATO response. If Russia didn’t exist, there would still be a need for NATO.
Ukraine wanted to join NATO to defend itself against a Russia that just invaded and took over Georgia, once again attacking a sovereign nation.
You are, will be and have been a traitor to this country and loyal to fascist Russia and Putin in every respect…just like that piece of shit Douglas McGregor. Is that because your entire ancestry is from Russia, or you significant other having been from Russia or as with most things, do you just have a penchant for whomever is the most immoral in the argument?
And, the Democrat alternative is to continue to supply weapons that Zelensky fights down to the last Ukrainian. More than thousand a day perish. Trump offers a pathway to halt hostilities. Trump is the peacemaker. Neither Ukraine nor NATO are capable of defeating Russia. Presently, Russia is creating weapons at a rate four times the rate of the US and NATO. Ukraine is just a modern facsimile of the Cuban missile crisis. Russia will never permit Ukraine to be part of NATO. The choice is an either/or choice: continue the slaughter or conceive a peace treaty. Time for Trump to be conferred a Nobel Prize.
War is politics by other means.
The fact is Russia failed at the politics, so they were forced to go to war.
