Is it too early for a 2022 mock class?
Will Earl Little be in it?
Iād say no at this point.
i would like to see some elite edge pass rushers. shouldnāt be that difficult with the success we have had recently with Rousseau, Phillips, Roche.
getting Shemar Stewart and Kenyatta Jackson should be the priority and obviously CB (Little).
I would agree. We do not have anyone elite on the team in 2021 unless there is some serious development. Guys got to see they could play early.
Ya gotta one of the 2 DE you mentionedā¦But Nolton is very close to that group imo and I expect him to be a Cane The list is deep this year at DE. Anderson and the FSU Commit Kelly are possibilities too.
Iād take 3 DE in ā22 unless we canāt sign 23-25 or we take a DE transfer.
Doesnāt seem to matter to anyone in Coral Gables, but if Earl Little Jr is not in the next class, that would be the most substantial evidence that Mike Rumph is worthless as a recruiter and a coach. The required public comments aside, Sr Little wants Jr Little to join the Miami brotherhood, in which he is an active member.
But kids donāt want to play for Rumph. Itās not more complicated than that.
Right now, the worse (and main) defense of Rumph seems to be that Banda is the lead recruiter on X, Y, Z defensive backs. Thatās an accurate statement, but how do these posters not realize what that is really saying about the other coach? Or the disadvantage it puts Banda at in those battles?
That said, Iām still thinking Little Jr is a 'Cane.
The hardcore 'Cane legacy rarely jump ship, see Smith, Chase.
As for the rest, this messed up year sounds to have benefit Diaz and Co., with smart moves off the field and an exciting on-field product. If Miami closes out Okla St, itād be safe to raise expectations, imo.
And that starts with Shemar Stewart, who Miami feels good about. Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia will make him an āoffer,ā make no mistake. But remember Miami is starting in the same place as James Williams. Stewart entered his recruitment wanting to be a 'Cane. Leonard Taylor signing this year, helps as well. Ultimately, the key here may be Phillips and Rousseau in the NFL Draft. If Miami puts them both in the 1st Rd, suddenly leaving money on the table today has a supportable counter.
Now Kamari Wilson is another that gives off the āwants to beā vibe, and while Miami is going after him with Ed Reed, Banda and a roster with future NFL safeties, itās hard to get too optimistic here. Iād love to see it because I think Wilson and Kinchens stack some chips next to Williams and Smith (strikers). Alphonso Allen or Jacorey Thomas might be more realistic.
Wesley Bissainthe looks like another likely 'Cane. Miami is hot and cold with Central High, and while a good looking recruit, Iām thinking he wonāt see the high end SEC offers, which makes UF/FSU the primary comp and Lockette can sway to Miami, imo. Travious Lathan and Leon Hart are nice looking 'backer recruits.
Finally, Iām in agreement on loading up on the Ends, South Florida is offering lots, but donāt know about Kenyatta Jackson. Heās Chaminade, so thatās a push to Miami but sounds like heād like to leave.
yes please on Bissainthe. been checking out central highlights and he stands out to me. even more so than T. Lewisā¦looks like the superior prospect.
Welcome Shadow!
Safety is pretty loaded this yearā¦But Iām not sure who comes with what we are bringing in this year.
Add Lymon and Marshall to Shadowās names.
Jaylin Marshall?
As much as Iām uninterested in the recruitments, I do have the holiday break here to check out that Skeeter Top 40 list, see what kids catch my attention on tape. Iāll get to work on that, as well as the 2021 Class (that this stay-at-home life has just taken all energy away from).
Yes Jaylin Marshallā¦I have no idea how this season went for him, but he was relatively all projection coming in because I believe he was behind other d1 kids? That being said it was either the brief film I did see in him or some 1 on 1s I saw that I REALLY LIKED and I thought justified some hype and had me thinking he can project number of positions and possibly even corner.
This just amazes me. What is the reason?
