On election night Laxalt is up.
With about 80% of expected votes counted, Democratic U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto was trailing Republican challenger Adam Laxalt by 22,595 votes, with an estimated 211,065 left to count. Laxalt was at 49.9% and Cortez Masto at 47.2%.
So Laxalt is up. There is a clear rate/ratio of votes going in his direction.
Then suddenly, they turn off the cameras, shut the doors and it reverses.
And moreover, the other lower race, Lombardo, the rate stays the same for him

If we consider Lindemann and Scott conservative votes, which given either party affiliation or ideological stance seems a reasonable thing to do, there are almost 14k conservative votes NOT going to Laxalt.

Let me show you how the math is done, bud.
There are 211,000 votes remaining, and Masto needs to make up 22k votes.
If 56% of those remaining votes come up Dem, we get:
116k for Masto
93k for Laxalt
That’s 23,000 votes and a close win for Masto.
This mathematically proves that EVEN IF THE DEMS UNDERPERFORMED, even if they only got 56% of the vote in an overwhelmingly Democratic district, that they would have won.
DJ’s point about the independent candidates stealing the conservative vote is a good one too. I almost mentioned it yesterday but didn’t want to confuse you on the math. You have an anti-establishment guy running, you have a Libertarian. These dudes aren’t stealing the Dem vote.
