After campaigning on “defund the police” for months, Psaki and the Biden Admin are now saying
That underfunded police departments are to blame for crime.
These people built a wedge between communities of color and law enforcement. Called for them to be defunded and in some cases disbanded.
They allowed their unofficial minions to burn cities down to demand this policy position…
And now they have amnesia?
Can you cite where Biden says he supports defunding the police? As far as I’m aware, he has always opposed that.
Here’s him opposing it before he was elected:
All I can say is I’m happy we have a president who doesn’t support defunding the police. That might be another policy of his that I support, but then I consider that one fairly automatic.
Yep- Biden’s team was smart enough to use the term “redirect” funding but it means the same thing
At 20:50 Biden explains he would redirect funds from police to put into mental health services to support police activity. He also talks about police equipment that he fees is unneeded.
It’s pretty clear that he sensed that he couldn’t use the word “defund” and focused tested the term “redirect” but it meant the same thing.
Um, at 20:50 it’s the guy asking the question that says “redirect.”
Biden answers by saying he called for “significant increase in funding” in mental health services.
He then does discuss police reform, but in the area of “Stop and frisk” and “no knock warrants” and such. He does touch on military equipment for law enforcement, saying they don’t need Hum-Vs as an example.
Then the guy pushes and asks “can they redirect some of the funding” and Biden says yes.
But that’s it. There’s no campaigning on the issue. Biden doesn’t go around talking about redirecting funds. He actually stated over and over that he didn’t want to defund law enforcement. And it’s been written everywhere he’s plastered his platform.
So I just don’t see your comment on Biden “campaigning for months” on the defund. It didn’t happen.
Lol. You need more? 1 admission is not enough?
I don’t know that it is fair to say that Biden is for defunding police. He might have given a soft OK to it when Mayors were in the middle of campaigns calling for it. At the very least he didn’t come out publicly against the lunacy.
But I will say that some of these mayors are 100% hypocrites as they are pleading for more money for cops now. They now realize that with their cities in shambles with record murders and crime that the situation is untenable.
I think Seattle and San Fran are two that specifically asked for more cops. Heck, Seattle just elected a Republican council person, which is probably a sign of the anger and frustration folks have with elected officials there. There are probably others as our inner cities have become war zones.

Actually, YOU have no shame. None of this is hard to look up
You have neither shame nor integrity.
So, you’re the one person on the planet who thinks we should have police handling mental health cases? Gotcha. Figures. Did JFK show up, Qanoner?
It’s not enough to back your “campaigning for months” comment. Not hardly.
Listen, it was a generic agreement without attached policy. Right after the video Biden released a statement saying he was against defunding, so it’s clear to everyone paying attention that he was against it.
I mean, he’s a politician. So yes, he wants the votes of Dems who DO support defunding, But he’s been very explicit about saying he’s against it over and over, and it’s very clear he believes it is an unpopular opinion in the country.
Defunding the police to too progressive for Biden. I’m happy that some of the conservatives here see that.
