Any thoughts on who you’d like or any rumors on the names out there?
Corey Hetherman hired
Like Guidry hire I am cautiously optimistic, even more so because Hetherman has proved it this past season in P4.
A name to watch for an assistant is his DB Coach Nick Monroe who has a nice rep as both a recruiter and a coach.
So, not a great hire? I heard a few names mentioned but not this one. Don’t know anything about this guy.
Minnesota had the 9th rated scoring defense in the country.
5th rated total defense.
Go and listen to him. You will want to play for the guy. Think Mario hired a very good coach. If he brings Monroe that will be a home run hire.

Seems like a good hire. Of course, we all thought Guidry was a good hire, too.

Yes I like the hire…
But in all fairness we could have said the same thing about Guidry (And I believe you did, maybe I’m mistaken?)
We shall see, I’m optimistic.

He could not stop Iowa. Iowa did not have a qb that could pass so it was basically all running and could not stop it.
He stopped a lot of other teams…And Iowa wore them down big time in the 2h. Minny couldn’t get off field and couldn’t stay on field on offense.
Can find pluses and minuses for every team during course of season.

After hearing him and reading about him I do like the hire. One would think that Mario would not pull a Guidry 2.0. One would think.
That being said, the proof will be in the pudding. He seems to be an excellent recruiter and coach. I know JMU is a smaller school but he did really well there too.
Between now and spring we will see what other coaches come on board.
Recruiting is supposedly not his strong suit…At least that’s the word.
