Bunch of UF players opted out but man they looked checked out - the ones who were there. I can see the headlines tomorrow “Gators pull a Miami, surrender 435 yards on the ground in Sooner Rout”. Or something like that. I mean, the Gators ran for 250 tonight and were nowhere near the better running team. Yikes! You’d see the score and OU’s 55 points and say they ran it up but they only had 25 pass plays. They had 40 rushes so I guess they did “run” it up.

This just underscores the meaninglessness of these bowl games. No one cares. If the same Florida team that played Bama shows up they have a very good chance of winning.
The NCAA needs to expand the playoff now or at least get rid of these bowl games.
At least Florida got embarrassed and my gambling night went well as I had Oklahoma +3.5.

Indiana, they will never get rid of the bowl games. The worst of the bowl games this year still out draw regular season MLB and NBA games. The worst ones…Bowl Games are easy for ESPN to produce and they are money makers for everyone involved. If anything there will be more bowl games not less…
They should just expand to an 8 or 16 team playoff and include the bowls in it. Best of both worlds.

The bowl games are exhibition games during the holiday season. Not much to dislike about them, especially as we get to see team’s play that otherwise wouldn’t meet each other.
But absolutely they don’t do anything for sport besides make money. The playoffs WILL be expanded in good time. It’s inevitable.
