One of biggest needs…And UM may have hit a home run here, especially if Banks or whoever the portal help is can play.
I have no idea what Blades and Ivey are doing moving forward…They have eligibility if they want. Clarke flashed and I think can be good moving forward, he is Couch with more size which leads to…Couch had a rough year, mostly based on awful tackling and he is what he is at 175 lbs. tops…Dunson flashed on special teams in '20, but honestly was exposed this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a portal guy sooner or later. We also have Malik Curtis there and he was raw coming in but very athletic.
Adding the 3 prep (Harris, Rogers, Graves) and we’ll no doubt add one from portal…We have gotten a crystal ball or two for Banks from Bama, a portal kid, regarded as maybe the top corner (or at least the highest ranked portal corner out of HS) …I have no idea if this kid can play but the consensus from Bama fans was that he was simply behind some very good players and that staff or fan base wasn’t down or giving up on him… He’s not the be all/end all to me…There is also an Oregon kid in the portal. Point being we will have at least 4 new corners on campus this fall…3 prep and 1 portal
I believe the only prep kid UM is still interested is Jahlil Florence from San Diego…His tape is in the defense thread…Like him a lot and can project at either DB position imo, but corner is his best position, shows return capability as well. He and his teammate have both de-commited from UO, no idea if UM likes one or the other better, but Florence has actually said he will visit in January.
Nice talent influx and he would be icing on the cake. Don’t be fooled by Harris’s low ranking and watch that senior tape…He’s impressive. Rogers may need time off of the knee injury. Great job by T-Rob and DVD, especially dealing with the Feagans de-commit, and coaching turmoil.
