Both Heatherman and Dawson just got new multiyear contracts with salary raises. Assume fandom is okay with the former, not so much with the latter.

It’s important for the fact that a head coaching job will pull more salary wise. We have to do what we can for protection.
Rationalcane made a rational assessment regarding the contract extensions. Dawson justifiably took some heat with his insistence of time and again rushing through the A gap to the exclusion of rushing through other gaps. To his credit, it appears Dawson actually may have listened to criticism and altered his rushing strategy. During the season, he called a considerable number of surprise plays most of which were successful. Dawson did a good job handling Carson Beck, reigning in his throwing chancy long balls in favor of a careful, ball control offense. My opinion of Dawson grew when the Hurricanes refused to go into their perennial late season swoon which has driven fans nuts over the last two decades. Dawson earned his extension.

I will give Dawson the BOTD that perhaps his O, which was humming with Ward, did not work well with Beck. Beck was a completely different style of QB. Mensah’s game is closer to Ward’s so maybe it will work well again?
I would keep Dawson on a short leash.
