Colbert was losing

$40 million per year. Wow

If this doesn’t demonstrate “the machine” for you I don’t know what will.

CBS was ok operating this show at a $40 million dollar a year loss because it served to undermine everything political opposition was doing.

Can’t wait to see Jimmy Kimmel’s books. Probably worse.

With streaming this is probably going to be an issue for most networks.Who the hell watches late night TV. If I watch anything it is a show on netflix or one of the other streaming services.

That’s a childish and dishonest take. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was the top rated show in its timeslot during almost the entirety of its run, particularly from 2017 onward. But, because of cord cutting from cable and lowering ad revenue, they’re all losing money.

We all know what it was cancelled, because the Paramount deal with Skydance Media, run by David Ellison who’s buddies with Trump

Actually CBS was NOT ok with it. That’s why the show was canceled, no?

This isn’t a conspiracy, this isn’t political bullying, it’s a sign of the times. As the article states, 2 other late shows were canceled in the last 2 years. 5 years ago their ad revenue was big profit, now it slipped and digital ads aren’t making up the difference.

Please attach Warden to your reply as well, he seems to disagree with you.

Streaming has completely changed how we watch tv and movies. The ability to watch what you want, when you want, how you want has changed the game forever. People don’t have to stay up late anymore to catch a live broadcast anymore. Most now don’t even have the attention span to sit through a 30 minute sitcom, let alone and hour long broadcast.

These guys are arguing that the show began losing $40 million overnight lol.

How so? Seems like another lie.

Are you really this obtuse? No one is arguing about anything. Explaining, discussing and talking, yes, but no one is arguing.
