They are both 4-5. No one saw that coming in September.
The sense of relief after beating a team you were supposed to beat? Enough to get you to jump out of your seat in joy? Nah, never felt that.
Relief, yes.
But storming the field? At Clemson? In Death Valley? That’s ludicrous.
If anything, this hammers home the nail on the sorry state of Clemson football. Even the Clemson fans knows they are garbage.
It’s the beginning of the end of the Dabo Swinney era. They can’t fire him now because that buyout is way too high. With all the high profile firings that happened this year alone, maybe they stop the outrageous contracts that have these hefty buyouts. They protect the school from another school trying to snatch their coach, but doesn’t protect them when things go south.
This era of college-football will probably be known as “The Death of the Bag-Man”. Don’t feel sorry for Dabo , a man who never saw a raise he didn’t want , but kicked and screamed at the initial mention of the kids finally getting something.
Next up ….the end of over-paid coaches and their jackass-sized buyouts.
