Not much so far. Two very good recruits to date. Maybe Manny’s attitude is early commits often don’t pan out so wait until things get real?
2021 was a great class, hopefully,2022 will be much the same.

I’m very interested in the defensive side, which can use an influx; but everyone of those guys can big time recruit.
They are now competing with the payrolls, but still should be a good showing.
Down to one commit so far for 22. Two decommits. though.
I’m not overly concerned that we’ve had two decommits. The numbers crunch for the '22 class across the country is going to allow Miami (FSU and others with low numbers) to land some kids that likely would have gone to a payroll school. Compound the COVID numbers game with the name rights income and Miami should remain near 85 kids that are 50% bluechip or better. From there, it comes down to getting kids to return (income from name) and development. If Miami doesn’t land a top 10 class, I would be shocked or completely wrong about how the COVID + Name Income factors into the '22 and '23 classes.
Both decommits are DLine recruits. We have a new DLine coach and supposedly Baker was also Cleveland’s recruiter. All it probably means is that with the new defensive staff we have shifted the focus to different players or at least a different type of players. The early commits got the message and are looking elsewhere.
The class doesn’t start until after we get our ass whooped by Bama.
i have a good feeling about this class.
the lack of early verbals likely means we are aiming for the cream of the crop.
While offered in half-jest, there is a good bit of truth to this. The level of “impressionability” from recruit to recruit matters quite a bit in this age of truncated relationships. In the 80’s a “fad” may have lasted years. Now a fad might have a shelf life of months. And recruiting, for better or worse, is not about trusted mentorships and in loco parentis, it’s the flavor du jour. Who’s the fad today? This sword cuts both ways. And it cuts deeply. Be ready for the wins and losses. Both will come quickly.
Bump as there are links to commits and decommits for those of you keeping score at home.
Not looking like a banner year for recruiting so far.
Aside from the mediocre won/loss record. the way Manny all but completely whiffed on recruiting this year more than justified his firing. Miami went 2 for the 30 on this list. How pathetic.
to be fair alot of those guys were gonna be tough pulls. although some we could’ve landed if we had pursued hard enough (k.jackson, spells, eugenio).
just land Stewart and Kelly and that will be a nice salvage in state to go with Bissainthe and Graves.
I agree to a certain extent but it’s not over yet. Kelly will make it 3 this weekend…And it looks like we are back in play for Little, Jr.
In a good year…If you are counting the whole state of Fla (and realize the top 30 changes every week or so on there) you’ll get 5 to 7 of the top 30 in the state.
Good summary of Miami’s supposed targets …
Of course, lots of players in the portal, too.
That’s actually fairly cleaned up and up to date (unlike usual) …Nice list.
In the top group: As of right now we are supposed to be out of it for Armelia. I can’t believe he won’t at least hear out Cristobal and Mirabal though. Father is supposedly all FSU. And it does’t look like we’ll get Agbo. I kinda have the feeling that since Agbo is located in the northwest and they never recruited him to Oregon that they just aren’t quite as high on him. Not sure. Medlock also is gone, likely a force out. The rest are either commits or seems to be 2 way interest
After that 1st group…When we go down to “high choice”…At this time the names to know are Jaden Harris…Visited last weekend. Not sure if new staff wants him. Possibly Dante Anderson (again no idea of new staff’s feelings, appeared to be backup plan for Diaz). Matthew McCoy (ditto, visited last weekend)…And Ahmad Moten…Diaz offered him in late November, and he was on Oregon’s board as well (don’t know how high)…I think there’s a good chance he ends up at UM.
Besides that (and I’ll update the targets threads next week or two)… there’s some players on there where it seems we haven’t had a UM update on for 6 months or longer.
Here is every other name that we need or could need to know at this time.
Jayden Gibson WR
Kevin Coleman WR
Landen Morris portal TE
Tyhler Williams OL
Jacarrius Peak OL
Zane Durant DT
Demario Tolan LB
Jahlil Florence DB
Jalil Tucker DB/ATH
Jacolby Spells CB
Keionte Scott CB Juco
Landon Hullaby S
Terrence Lewis LB Portal
This is obviously gonna change every day with new staff…Maybe we get involved with a RB Gibbs if we miss on Barnes or some locals like WR Mortimer or Jackson or TE Donaldson and of course the portal.
I expect new names at OL and maybe DL and LB to be the most prevalent. We also need a punter.
