They might have had one. I don’t know if they did or didn’t. It hasn’t been as effective as the ones being used in the US.

We are a culturally conservative country (abortion restrictions to no abortions, fund the police, border security…) that also is a little more progressive economically than we are culturally (tax increases on rich, break up large companies, support for medicare, social security…). Now some of the economic support could just be that so many conservatives have paid into these systems and want their fair piece of the pie.
China is vaccinating close to 20 million daily. It’s impressive but they are still behind. (Even the US hasn’t surpassed 50% fully vaccinated).
Big difference is their vaccine is probably a lot less effective, though I don’t know if the science is settled.
Don’t know if this is a ChiNeSe CoNsPiRaCy but it’s worth noting they’re only locking down certain problem neighborhoods. This isn’t countrywide. So any conspiracies on this note would need to be pretty specifically targeted.
