Lol…Yes some definitely would have…They are in their 80s and 90s…They are pick em -110 either way every day of their lives. Many of the deaths were in LTC facilities…I posted this info last year, I can’t remember the number but the average stay in an LTC facility is like 15 months or something to that effect…May even be less. It’s not uncommon at all for people to die a couple months after living in an LTC home. So when you combine that with the fact that many tests were simply flawed and the disappearance of influenza and the 900 other factors we have had to point out to media worshiping sheep like you the last 18 months…No one in their right mind believes that there are 700k covid deaths.

It’s supposed to detect if you are sick. That means- you have enough viral load to cause infection and to infect others.

You can have SARS-COV-2 in your system and not be sick or contagious. You need a high enough viral load that causes an immune response and that can “shed.”
A PCR test amplified enough can find almost ANYTHING in your body. It doesn’t mean you should be counted among the infected if it detects something.
Initially, they were running 40 cycles…. That means they were doubling the gene 40 times. Now they’ve reduced it to 28 I believe. Huge difference. That’s why infections and deaths plummeted and we’ve never topped off again.

They created a test that is able to be programmed to produce false positives when they need it. It can also be desensitized (down to 10 cycles) to produce false negatives if they need it.

Perhaps - but certainly in the beginning of this thing (and through subsequent waves) we were continuing to learn what we were dealing with - and detecting the virus was step one to try and minimize spread.
No worries - I get it and appreciate that. Me neither. As we continue to learn about this thing the tests should be adjusted.
I suppose the question is (and honestly I don’t know the answer) - if one initially has a small viral load and not officially sick/contagious - can that viral load grow to a point where they are? I am assuming yes? If you get COVID you don’t automatically have a high viral load but it grows. Maybe there are a lot of cases where it doesn’t?
