Championship Weekend Programs

I watched all of the Georgia and Texas game. On a side note, Texas LOST the game more than Georgia won it.

These programs are two steps ahead of us. Two. Our offense this year could play with anyone. Our D, well.

But, it’s the coaching that I’m seeing. I see no emotion in Mario on the sideline. Dude was an OL guy and I want to see a Dan Campbell come out in him. Both Kirby and Sark are steps ahead of Mario as far as coaches go. And to have your backup QB come in and steer your team to victory just shows how Kirby AND his staff are top notch, prepared and not outcoached. Rarely.

I like Mario. I 'm not on the fire Mario wagon that some folks are but we have got to evaluate our talent and prepare them better. We need leaders on the field like we had back in “the day”. We still had really good coaches but we also had leaders on the field. This is the first year that I have seen a leader on the field in Cam Ward. We can’t keep getting outcoached, outschemed, outsmarted. For me, this next season will really tell me where we are as a program. Because today I’m seeing some great teams and elite coaching.

I only watched Georgia vs. Texas intermittently. The talent level seemed above where Miami is. More so, they seemed to play harder. More motor. And, yes, reserves come in and teams don’t miss a beat. Marginal dropoff.

Which perhaps is more evidence of SEC/Big 10 pulling away from the rest. Roster limits were supposed to help gain parity. I can’t remember but before such limits didn’t Bear Bryant have like 100 guys on the team, the last 40 of which could be starters elsewhere? Are we heading back in that direction?

Really? Next year?

We’re entering year four with him and he’s still got to rip that defense apart and rebuild in the portal. Not a great sign at all. I mean, he was never known for his Saturday mastery. It was always about loading a roster with better kids than the opponent if he was going to have any chance. And yet this defense doesn’t have it at all and we’re going to the fourth season. So disappointed in this year’s ending and it was a week ago it happened. Even though the evidence was heavy all year long about how it would end. Bummed!

Forgot. Oregon looks like a well oiled machine. I suspect they don’t even remember Mario was there. Like that PSU is playing tough. Maybe in the end they will save Franklin’s job.
