Central Connecticut State

Do you suppose we’re going to see a Blue Devil slaughter? After FIU, I have learned never to underestimate Miami fecklessness.

This game will give us a glance at Garcia whom I think is the future for the Hurricanes. Additionally, we’ll see are younger RBs in action. We should also see some of the young WRs.

Is this spectacle televised?

Even at 35-0, there’s not a lot of excitement about the game here, is there?

The game’s on ESPN 3 on the west coast, in the app. This should’ve been game 1.

It’s been nice to see tackles being made regardless that they are playing a high school jv team.

Smith looks good. Seen 56 in on D. 24 and 0 both look like they will be players in the future.

How have QBs and other RBs fared?

QBs and RBs having record days. Garcia even ran for a 30-something yard play. Hard to be excited though.

Cody Brown was looking good. Seemed like he sees holes better than Cam, but Cam has that extra gear in the open field that he’s shown on two big plays.

Yeah, Cam seems really hesitant to me getting through the line, which 9 times out of 10 means he won’t get far, but his speed in the open field surprised me.

I was never high on Cam, not even on his high school films. For two years basically we have had no rushing game.

Watching Mississippi State and LSU. MSU has a red zone problem. They’ve failed on three drives already to score TDs. Otherwise, Leach’s offense is superb, especially considering getting recruits to MSU is difficult. But, every year, Leach develops a QB and Rogers is excellent.

What happened to the game…? All I see is a delay?

It’s the Ford Weather Delay. There was lightning. Looks like they’re coming back out soon.

For a point of reference for what we’re playing today, here’s what our opponent Central Connecticut State has faced this year:

  • Southern Connecticut State 28…Central Connecticut State 21
  • Central Connecticut State 21…Wagner 19 (a team we were supposed to play last year, yikes!)
  • S.E. Louisiana 56…Central Connecticut State 10 (ouch!)

So yeah, this is a very bad team, no doubt and we shouldn’t take much from the game unless there’s some injuries. Though I will also say, good Lord, Blake! No, I don’t care to see Alabama or Florida in these damn kickoff games but I sure don’t expect Central Connecticut State and Wagner to show up in the OOC games either. Just awful on both ends of the spectrum. Hopefully there’s not too many more of these teams in the future schedules.

MIAMI IS BACK, 69 points BABY!!!

Not going to read into this game too much.

Some simple insights:

  • Lt looked like he had some talent but clearly didn’t have all the tools.
  • Garcia throws the best deep ball we have seen since Brock or Dorsey.
  • freshmen WR, yikes! Hands hands hands. X, Smith, Brinson, George , and BSmith. Add Rambo and let Harley get some snaps.
  • Ivey Jennings and Wiggins: how weren’t they suspended or hurt? Still trash vs an FCS.
  • Thad will replace Chaney(assuming he gets to 100% next year and stays healthy).
  • Brooks sure didn’t look like he was recovering from an injury. Kid needs to be on the field for Miami to have a good season.
  • Gil>>>Carter. Heck Chase Smith looked better.
  • still lacking turnovers but at least we didn’t turn it over.

+1. He looks legit and I wonder if he’s quick enough against real competition.

21 class is special and full of hits. Unfortunately, if this staff sticks around then they will regress and become jags. Liked the little bit I saw from McLaughlin too, hard to take much away from this though considering the opponent but we will need him next year big time.
