Cam for Prez.
So calm. So cool. Kid just has it. Man this is fun.
It’s nice to have a QB you can say is the best we had in 20 years and there’s no argument. He’s it.
It’s also sad for the last 20 years, but right now I’ll take it!
Here are my questions. How long does he stay. Who is our next qb? I would think kids may be thinking “ sure they are good with Cam but what happens when he’s gone” “why should I go there with Cam gone”. Do we have a qb even close to Cam to make the recruits even think we can maintain this kind of performance. Or do we keep shopping in the portal. Can Miami afford that. With Miami being a small private school they don’t have a large student body to help cover these multi million dollar players.
I know I should just be grateful for what we have but I worry about the future. My wife has been telling me this for decades.
I’m thinking maybe quarterbacks are saying I wanna go do that with dudes like that? Maybe he makes Miami cool again lmao
This. And as long as the NIL is there, good QBs will want to come here get the chance to do what Cam is doing… and getting the exposure Cam is getting.
Success breeds success.
The quarterback next year will either be Poffberger, E Will, or the portal again
If I had to guess and this is just me purely speculating…I’d rate the probability
Portal 50%
E Will 35%
Poff 10%
Poff has some surprising mobility that I like, but honestly Emory Williams just looks better than him as a thrower. I’m not a QB expert, but I didn’t really love the Poff tape, and yes I understand that he put up numbers with pedestrian Albany talent against some schools that were better than his team.
I would be worried if Poff and Williams were the only two considered to start next year. Neither of these guys impress me. I like the high school kid coming in from Georgia more than Poff or Williams, but my sense is that Mario will find an NIL prospect, perhaps someone from one of the smaller schools who is lighting it up statistically. Recall that Ward had his start at Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
