Harmeet Dhillon is a courageous lawyer practicing on the Left Coast. She’s a conservative who has taken up the cause of the descendants of Serranus Hastings after whom the San Francisco law school is named. Under the terms of the Hastings generous bequest, the school would retain in perpetuity the name of the Grantor.
While I have not read the pleading of the case, I scribed a note to Ms. Dhillon I suppose for pure mischief sake. I pointed out the legacy gifted by Hastings was contractual, and if the university violated the contract, it would be subject to demand that the original $100,000 be returned to the rightful family heirs. I suggested that had she not incorporated this matter in her pleading, she should amend same in the amount of $4 million, the present value of the original bequest.
Additionally, I suggested Ms. Dillon file a defamation suit against the State of California for the specious allegation that the distinguished Surranus Hastings was a racist, and as such, visited shame and reputational damage upon the Hastings descendants.
Most people, in their elder age, reflect on their lives and enjoy their time, their family, etc. You, however, spend your time trying to troll the world and liberals, while spending your days scribbling lies and championing the most immoral among us.
You’re a fine example for all of us to learn from…you view your life as filled with accomplishments that you, no doubt, cannot tell us enough about. But, what your chosen path has left you with is lots of toys and no soul, nobody trying to spend their days with you, just a dirty leg who you pay for her time and a few other dirtbags to hang on the lake with. Most people want to just hug those they care about, snuggle with the dog, breathe a bit and calm their soul. You, on the other hand, spend your days trying to “own the libs” on the internet. Truly pathetic.
Unfortunately, you don’t have the internal fortitude for true self reflection…but, stand as a shining example of misplaces priorities, sacrificed character, and based upon how you are in your elder days…a wasted life. Pretty good prose Warden. I am amazed how you perceive me. Actually, in the words of Maslow, whom I disagree with, I am very self-actualized, though I do rhapsodize about the past and carry on lively correspondence with legions of friends both here and abroad. One of the rewards of teaching is the matter of love and respect of your past students. On this measure, I am truly blessed.
Being rich is no accident, and I encourage all to amass a critical mass of wealth enabling them to enjoy the greatest gift of wealth which is individual liberty. There does come time in life when material objects have lesser value, and you learn more to appreciate beauty, nature, friends and happiness. You spend time cogitating about your own existence as anciently treated in Ecclesiastes in the Bible.
Of one thing I am certain, that is man needs to be left the hell alone to the greatest extent possible, and not become a slave of the state, a slave to religion, a slave to anything or anybody. I believe happiness is connected with optimism while despair with pessimism. I do wrestle with this continuum, but in the main I categorically refuse to be unhappy. The Golden Rule is most definitely golden.
GSC, I don’t consider Warden a loser, just a liberal with whom I frequently disagree. Were we all to agree with one another, we’d be an insipid bunch. I cannot help but have an appreciation for good prose even if it is adversarial.
