Difference was, he was a popular candidate. Elder only received a thumbs up from a quarter of total voters, which magically coincides with the percentage of registered Pubs in the state. It wasn’t going to happen, and it wasn’t even close.
Which is why I say the Dem machine got in gear. A few weeks ago it was looking really good for recall. Polls showed support hovering around 50%. Elder gets smeared with racist attacks and the big guns come out to support Newsom and it’s over.
Arnold while a republican was not going to rock the apple cart. Dems can handle him.
I have no problem with saying a party got in gear for an election. What I’m calling ridiculous is the fraud narrative.
I wasn’t at all surprised that Newsom won. I even predicted same. Elder didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell to win. Incredible how the Democrats got away with the “black face of white supremacy.” We’d never know it if Elder really won the election. It won’t be long before the same thing as happened in California will happen in Texas and Florida. Republicans are being rapidly replaced by Democrat VOTING illegal immigrants. That is the grand plan of the Marxist Left, and it is working well for them.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Newsom won, but the margin he won by is fishy.
Like I said before, there are large numbers of Dems in the state that want him recalled. And you can’t be serious in thinking they would vote no just because they are afraid of Elder. It’s majority vote wins and a Dem could easily win the vote after he’s recalled.
Statistically to have that high of margin after all the polls in the state had it really close, means the polls were off by 20-30%. That’s way worse than the polls for Trump saying he was down by double digits when he was within a few percent.
Remove vote by mail (cheat by mail), ballot harvesting (paying folks to vote which should be illegal everywhere), and illegals voting and it would be really interesting to see what the vote totals really are.
If people still voted for Newsom after all the damage he’s done to the state and think they will just vote him out next year, they are insane.
Indiana, it is a blue state…Why is it so shocking. People no longer vote based on actual facts…They vote based on party. There is no way Trump 10 or 20 years ago gets voted in as president. Now even people who think he is the scum of the earth voted for him because there was an R next to his name. Fact is Trump could have been a Dem and and most Dems would have voted for him…I would have voted for a Republican. I don’t care who was put out there. I think trump is a dispicable human being. He wasn’t really for Trump early on and doesn’t really identify with the Republican Party but it’s where we are in politics that a black man can be attacked and it would be called racist in any other venue but because he’s running with an R by his name no one says a word.
I don’t have illusions that he was going to win, but in late July/early August the polls were putting the recall at a 50/50 proposition and even had Newsom likely to lose.
You are correct in that people are so tribal now they will vote for the same failed policies just because of the letter by the name.
