Listen- I have absolutely no clue whether Francis was arrested or not. But here’s why I seriously doubt it could EVER happen.
You’re talking about the largest religion in the entire world. You’re also talking about a State. He is the leader of his own state. No one has jurisdiction.
The only country that could possibly do it is Italy because 1. The Vatican is located within its borders and 2. It was their land to begin with that they ceded over in 1929 via treaty. But for them to break that treaty and potentially commit an international incident, it would have to be something that is not only extremely serious, but they’d have to be able to produce evidence of the crime with no way to refute it.
Francis will be gone rather soon. Apparently he’s ill and has expressed his desire to retire. As a Catholic I hate to express condemnation toward the head of my Church but it’s inescapable that he’s been a terrible Pope.
