Completely agree. I would only add one caveat.
Trump was stuck between a rock and a hard place on this decision. If he opposes the vaccine or if it is delayed he’s left with only the deaths and he would be harshly blamed for inaction.
It seems his only option was to push the vaccine and hope that it did its intended job. Even if it didn’t, he could at minimum say “I tried…. What did you want me to do, nothing?”
But yea- he deserves some blame here because he allowed the hype to get out of control which forced him into a bad situation.
