I erred in my message to 305. My sentence was written in the subjunctive mood not past would be the correct phrase. Warden’s correction then is of course not warranted and incorrect since the writer of the sentence is the consummate authority in this case with respect to meaning.
Warden’s map of Europe showing approval of mail-in balloting shows the preponderance of countries forbid it. The pro-life advocates should focus on incrementalism. I believe most people would be OK with a 22 week ban, for example. Start there. Instead, the ballot measure was so confusing and the pro-abortion side framed it as a big freedom thing. Now they have abortion enshrined in the law and it’s up to 40 weeks.
Move to other issues and tone down the all or nothing nature on abortion.
