Probably not popular, but Biden needs to threaten Putin to stop, or else. I realize the secret service would forbid him flying to Kyiv, but what a message that would send. If Biden were a leader (he’s not), he’d tell Putin that he will regret seeing this through.
Biden has nothing that he can use to threaten Putin. The longer Biden acts to prolong the war, the greater the damage visited upon the West, especially on Europe, and meanwhile Biden grows rich selling oil at record prices. Sanction have backfired. Sanction hurt the West many times more than they do Russia. Putin should he choose could remain in Ukraine for decades.
Winter has historically favored Russia during times of conflict. When the winter months roll around, Putin could subject Europe to Operation Deep Freeze simply by shutting off the gas and selling Europe’s share to other willing buyers. The West is not committed to fighting in Ukraine, and the Ukraine cannot defeat Russia and beliefs that they can are completely erroneous. There is only one humane remedy to stop the war. Otherwise, world chaos will continue. Tens of thousands will be slaughtered. Europeans will shiver. Africans will starve to death. The U.S. dollar will cease to be the world reserve currency. No way NATO survives a decade long war over Ukraine. Negotiation. Accepting partition of Ukraine.
For twenty years, Putin has used the treasure of Russia to build the most powerful army on earth. Yes, as powerful as ours. A war between the U.S. and Russia would be a nuclear war since the Russians have the capability of destroying every large U.S. naval vessel in one half hour’s time. We could not possibly defeat Russia on Russian soil in a conventional war. We should never even contemplate fighting Russia when Russia is NOT the chief enemy of our nation. Our foreign policy should be to tame Russia through mutual understanding and commerce. Our policy should be to cleave Russia away from the Chinese sphere of influence. And, I know for certain that the Russian people yearn to be recognized as Westerners so the potential is indeed there.

The Russian Army is performing well in Ukraine despite the propaganda alleging failure. It has already conquered more land that the U.S. conquered in Iraq and has done it without carpet bombing the cities other than Mariupol and has preserved infrastructure and set up civilian evacuation corridors.
The extreme danger of this war is its potential to spread into a larger conflict. What will happen when Russia starts downing NATO aircraft bringing in munitions. It could not be more cruel or foolish to continue frighting this war down to the last Ukrainian. Ukraine cannot prevail against the world’s most powerful land army. What is really depressing is that were Trump president, there’d be no war whatsoever in Ukraine. Trump was too smart to allow it. He was a negotiation expert as illustrated with his dealings in the Middle East. Listen to Tulsi Gabbard, a former pilot, who knows the impossibility of Ukraine defeating Russia. Tulsi is the best future Dem candidate for the presidency. I could never vote for her, but she’s on the right track when it comes to Ukraine.
I refuse to support Nazis who have persecuted the Russian people in Ukraine for decades committing unspeakable atrocities. When Zelensky ordered 60,000 troops to go to Donbas to destroy Russian dissidents, This was the provocation that started the war. Putin beat him to the punch and sent the Red Army into the region. Thousands of Ukrainians are surrendering every day in Donbas and are transported to Russian prisons.
BTW, Europeans are now meeting Putin’s demands buying Russian gas and paying for it in Rubles sent directly to Russian banks in Moscow.
