At least 50 migrants sent to El Salvador prison entered US legally, Cato Institute finds

My god- the media is so sneaky.

These immigrants were “paroled” by Biden’s DHS. So although no illegal, they are not granted permanent residence.

Immigration parole allows temporary legal status for non-citizens to enter or remain in the U.S… It’s granted for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), often when other immigration options are not available. Parole is not the same as admission and doesn’t lead to permanent residency.

The Federal Government can send them back whenever they would like
.
So the issue really is- why did they send them to an El Salvadoran Prison?

I don’t know. Maybe they had reasons?

“At least 42 were labeled as gang members primarily based on their tattoos, which Venezuelan gangs do not use to identify members and are not reliable indicators of gang membership,” Cato wrote.

Why would you put words in the media’s mouth? It didn’t say they were permanent residents. It said they entered the US legally.

NO SHIT THAT’S THE ISSUE!!!

These are normal people who entered the US through legal mechanisms. They did nothing wrong. Sure, they weren’t guaranteed a home and life in the US, but they did nothing wrong.

Then they get sent to a supermax prison.

Because the media knows exactly what they are doing by claiming they are “legal aliens”

The United States Government,… specifically the Executive Branch can revoke alien status at any time for any reason. Most readers will see “legal alien” or “legal immigrant” and believe they are permanent residents.

Why not explain what a parole program is? It’s DISCRETIONARY.

So removing them is not a big deal.

Now- the whole Salvadoran Prison thing… if they are gang members then so be it. Don’t give a shit. Have to imagine Venezuela didn’t want them so we send them to whom ever will have them. It is what it is.

They are gang members. Did you skip that part?

I’ve never heard The CATO Institute described as “the media.”

Those words are not used together a single time in this article.

Based upon what? Where do you get that “most readers” will think this? Evidence?

False. It says 24 of them were paroled out of the 50. Do you have their names and dates to verify what administration was involved and that leaves 26 unaccounted for by your claim.

No evidence on that claim at all.

Come on man…

Who writes this shit?

Do you really think random people with a sports team tattoo are being sent to El Salvador? In droves?

And then the quote near the end…

" Tatoos aren’t reliable indicators of gang membership"

Which is saying something different than just being arrested for any tattoo…It’s saying they aren’t used at all. Do you really think random people get a gang tattoo, especially a dangerous gang such as ms-13 randomly? How would that go in the street…In prison…Etc…Especially for a latin male…You don’t fake it like that.

I understand your beef and would have issue with a lot of it too, and I’m not denying that the Trump admin could have f**ked up… and the situation needs to be corrected, but these articles are ridiculous. Like random Joes with a Raiders tat are being violated and thrown in a van for no reason.

Being 100% factual?

You can be an ILLEGAL alien or you can be a LEGAL alien. These aliens were the latter. That’s a very important distinction here.

Once again, THEY DID NOTHING WRONG AND WERE SENT TO PRISON.

If they came into the country by legal means, isn’t that the very definition of legal alien?

This is an assumption. Our government says they were gang members.

Buddy, you obviously don’t know what an “assumption” is.

Saying someone is a gang member based solely on tattoos? That’s the DEFINITION of an assumption.

Saying someone did nothing wrong in a country where the rule of law is innocent until proven guilty? That’s a FACT.

So technically we can label anyone a gang member we dont like. At that point we have the right to kick them out of the country.

So technically we believe that people that the government had no other reason besides tattoos because some article said so.

I’ll admit, I peaked this time
