Anyone else have zero confidence in syracuse game?

i’ve seen this movie so many times before…we always lose this type of game. the one strength cuse’ has is our greatest weakness. i feel like were gonna lose big

I agree, this is exactly the game we go in, play terrible and lose by 17.

I’m confident in the offense. It’s the defense that worries me.

I have no confidence in the remainder of the season.

Wake Forest should have been 48 minutes of domination.

We’ll probably win the Syracuse game but it’ll be unconvincing. Will figure out a way to keep them in the game or we’ll fall behind and come back.

It’s this team’s identity.

But that’s another issue…Our offense feels like it’s not all 4 quarters anymore, it’s a burst or stall. Which means trouble against a top 20 defense when and if we work our way past Syracuse.

Isn’t this where someone says there’s guys flying around, hitting people?

I think we get it done

44-33 UM

Syracuse 38 - Miami 31

We flop. Season over.

Hope I’m wrong but this team gives me no reason for confidence.

Never lose sight of the fact that the Hurricanes to the extreme discomfort of fans can crap out and be humiliated even by lessor opponents. IMO we’re more susceptible to teams with a powerful rushing game such as Georgia Tech. Syracuse does not have a good rushing offense; they rank 128 out of 134 college teams.

Conversely, Syracuse has a formidable passing game. QB Kyle McCord is the only NCAA player passing for more yards than our Cam Ward.

We can expect the air to be filled with footballs in this game. Syracuse RB Lequint Allen is a quality RB and is dangerous in spite of Syracuse’s anemic rushing attack. I think Miami is the superior team and is less prone to errors than Syracuse. I see Miami outscoring them.

This^^

I was considering Cuse in this game, but the more I go into it, I have no opinion on the side. If -11 or less, gun to my head, it would be UM… I just don’t know where the stops for Cuse are gonna come from against what is possibly the best offense in the nation, UM.

It’s certainly losable, I just think we are capable of hanging a big, big number here and Cuse are going to be forced to keep up.

I split a unit on Over 67/Over34 1h/and have a smaller bet on the over 39 UM team total…If I end up getting a better price (Team totals can be all over the place) in the 38 team total range, I will add more and make the 3 positions equal.

Since it’s the only play I posted on this forum this year, I’m sure it will go up in flames lol.

Happy thanksgiving everyone and enjoy the football!

i’ve had more time to think about it since starting this thread, and i’m even less confident now that i was then. it just feels like were gonna lay a stinker and open the door for alabama to sneak in at our expense.

if it we cant win the ACC now with arguably one of the best QBs we’ve ever had when will we?

Isn’t this a better question to ask if we actually lose the game?

not even mad

Honestly, now I don’t need to book a plane ticket to Charlotte. My next weekend just opened up.

I am super fukn pissed because it did not have to happen. That idiotic decision to kick a FG… you HAVE to go for the TD. Not guaranteed they get the TD, but with that FG… the loss was all but guaranteed with the D completely unable to stop Syracuse.

I am mad because they Syracuse spotted Miami 21… and they STILL figured out a way to lose

Outplayed, and outcoached.

My prediction was close.

This is the worst 10 win team I’ve ever seen.

We have half a team. Great offense, very bad defense.

On balance that makes for nail biting games each week and every game is close.

Well coached teams make adjustments, usually at halftime. In the Syracuse game, the Cuse scored three TDs in the 3rd quarter. So much for adjustments.

When another team’s offense seem unstoppable, you cannot just leave well enough alone. You’ve got to gamble. Somehow you’ve got to apply greater pressure on the QB, and you’ve got to stop the run. Ergo, you’ve got to move more players up onto the defensive line, and you’ve got to blitz. Admittedly, McCord got rid of the ball fast, but our line looked slow as hell, and Syracuse did a great job of holding for which they weren’t penalized. Why not have a FAST player blitz in from the outside?

When you gamble, you can certainly be burned. However, increasing pressure augments the chances that the opposition will make a mistake, a sack, a fumble, or an interception. Nothing ensures a loss more than turnovers and penalties. Obviously, our defensive scheme was not working against the Orange. So, in accordance with the definition of insanity, why the hell didn’t we change the defense. To be sure, QB McCord walked away from the Miami game with an unsoiled uniform. What drove me nuts was when they moved No. 29 around the backfield, we never reacted to their motion, leaving 29 a clear pathway around the end for at least a ten yard gain every time. I found myself screaming at the television to cover the guy, but we didn’t react. When we chose to kick a FG, I went into a state of near apoplexy. So stupid! Patently stupid! Boneheadedly stupid!

But for a fumble, Miami would have beaten Syracuse. We should have beaten those guys by two or three touchdowns. This team should have had an unbeaten year. Nevertheless, what kind of year would we have had without Cam Ward?
