Really surprised no one has brought it up.
Crazy crazy case. Insane fact pattern.
I actually disagree with the verdict although I understand why it was reached. It was almost necessary after what we heard day after day.
But there’s just a few things in the case that lead me to believe that he wasn’t the actual killer OR at least not the only killer.
2 murder weapons used within moments of one another. Almost impossible for even an experienced operator to use a shot gun on victim one close range, place it down and then grab an AR-15 and kill your second victim. And that victim just stays there? Doesn’t flee? Doesn’t fight? I might hang the jury just on that fact alone.
Then there’s the lack of evidence found at his home. Yes- he changed, but what happened to his clothes he wore in the Snap video? He comes home and what? The housekeeper sees him in a new outfit? There’s no DNA evidence on him or his car? None of his DNA at the scene (yes? I think he was there).
So this is my theory- it’s known that he was stealing money from his firm and probably others as well. It’s also known that he was working with Cartel members.
Did they try to kill him and instead killed his family? He ducks out right before they arrive and they take the wife and kid as a message?
Maybe they made him watch and told him if he talks the rest of his family is dead as well? I don’t know…. But the single shooter theory here just doesn’t hold water.
I also don’t believe he set this up to create sympathy to ward off a criminal investigation into his theft of his law firm. To set up a murder charge to hold off a financial charge is just idiotic.
PS - if this case showed us anything it showed us that we can be monitored on our every step.
They knew every detail of his location via phone records. And they were able to get vehicle location history because he used a company car and I’m assuming the firm made the data available in discovery. Scary scary big brother shit.
We live in a world where it’s really really hard to be anonymous and private.
