No, he doesn’t. He was wrong about Sandy Hook. He was wrong about the election.
For that POS to say what he’s said about Sandy Hook disqualifies him on everything else he’s tried to say (and has been wrong about). And by calling him “right” (false) on most things, you’re defending him.
Admit it, you’ve been grifted by him too. If he and Trump went in together to reboot Trump U, you wouldn’t be able to give them money fast enough.
Jones is getting everything he deserves right now. And if, god forbid, one of your children parished in a school shooting, followed by him calling it fake for years, followed by his fans harassing you and your family and making death threats, you’d probably feel very differently about him.
The punitive judgment was excessive and will be reduced in appeal, however, the size of the judgment is illustrative of the strong feelings embraced by this jury against Jones’s transgression. Moreover, his behavior in court obviously didn’t sit well with the jury in arriving at an equitable judgment. Spite, bravado, and contemptuous displays never play well in court.
Jones is not necessarily through with broadcasting, but he likely will lose control of his corporation depending on the hierarchy of debt holders. Ironically, he could wind up working for the judgment creditors until the liens on his assets are satisfied. I am uncertain about the profitability of Jones’s enterprises, but would surmise they could conceivably be capable of a negotiated payoff in less than a year’s time. It is not inconceivable that this is the last lawsuit he’ll see in this case. In the event of future litigation, you’ll also see a remarkable change in Jones’s court demeanor.
Your glossing over details which will be decided by the bankruptcy court. Infowars is a valuable corporation. Were it to halt operation, the judgment holders would be deprived of payment. The appeal will reduce substantially the judgment amount. I am in agreement that Jones deserves punishment, but not at the expense of the judgment holders being paid. The bankruptcy trustee will settle the suit and submit his recommendations to the presiding judge.
Blockquote
As always- we’re always late but right.
Excuse me. I just mixed up the order of your words. What a difference in meaning.
Absolute horseshit. You know nothing about the law.
Jones has the right to free speech. But when that speech is knowingly untrue (which Jones admitted) and it causes injury to another party, it’s time to pay.
The fact you support this piece of cow dung and what he’s caused these families to have to go through (on top of their loved ones being murdered) is appalling, but honestly, not shocking.
I never once claimed Alex Jones was right but late about Sandy Hook.
Now- I have my own independent reasons for holding the beliefs I do about Sandy Hook. They are not related to Alex Jones.
But in any event, we’ll see who’s correct legally if this case is appealed. And judging by the outrageous verdict amount and denial of a valid legal defense, I believe it’s a justified appeal.
So yeah….you’re agreeing with Jones - but at least you seem to acknowledge his repugnance (not directly).
Like I said - you continue to defend this scum bag.
I do think the monetary penalty will be reduced (it’s common to get these huge awards from a jury and have a judge later reduce them), but Jones will be in financial ruin the rest of his life.
As he should be.
Shame on you DJ. Whatever you said about Rittenhouse you claimed to be 100% truth. And Rittenhouse read your statements. And multiple members of the public have read your opinions on his as well. And they’ve gone to far as to Harris him.
You clearly haven’t been paying attention to the multiple cases in which Jones is accused to defamation. Because you don’t want to. Because you know you’re wrong.
Yet you always claim to be late, but right. Do you know what this means to everyone else? You contort whatever happens into words making you (try) to sound right after clearly being wrong. The problem is, you’re not very good at it.
How did I not guess he’s a Sandy Hook denier, too? Of course
In 4 separate lawsuits…" Mr. Jones lost the opportunity to mount a First Amendment defense as he and his lawyers repeatedly failed to turn over documents, including financial records, ordered by the court. As a result, he was found liable in all four cases by default."
He refused to participate in legal proceedings…so…
