Probably not the most exciting game, but here’s a thread all the same.
Even though points will be easy to come by, I’m looking to see the same professional discipline and execution as last week.

So far, so good. Real good.
Still feels different. Back up OL and all. Just feels like this is gonna be “business as usual”. As it should be. Keep it rolling
Cam is just playing backyard football out there.

ROTFLMMFAO!!!
The expression on the faces of the ND fans is enough to keep a 'Canes fan warm in cold weather…for a long time.
Better yet…try to imagine spitting Lou Holtz (aka Sylvester the Cat) reaching for Maalox… or… Milk of Magnesia.
This made my day.
Schadenfreude!!
I don’t know what I hate more, their over inflated yearly ranking or the fact that the whole media is in on it as it appears to be. Joel Klatt had them at FOUR this week. Yeah, Ohio State, Georgia and Texas were the only ones better. Alabama was at FIVE. Can you imagine? Why is everyone blind to it? They just ain’t all that. Alabama would crush that squad.
They were 13-13 at TAMU last week. Neither offense had anything. ND wins it 23-13 and THAT deserves a #4 ranking? AP had them at 5. It’s all too much. If say, Iowa had gone to TAMU and did the same thing, you’d probably rank them around 17-20, no higher. But the lamers get all the preferential treatment. Sickening! And you know they just want to squeeze them into the playoff for the rating it’ll get. They ain’t winning four in a row vs good teams ever. They aren’t built for it.
Not digging all the penalties…particularly undisciplined, boneheaded ones.
Agreed that we are a little sloppy. Not too bad but it’s there. On top of that, OLine is letting people through too fast, and our secondary has had a couple brain farts.
On the plus side, these are pretty small blemishes overall. Things otherwise look mostly fine.
7 penalties for 54 yards with 8 minutes left in the 3rd.
Can’t say I love Ward going airborne like that late in the 3rd quarter in a game that is well in hand…
Poffenbarger sighting. I am OK with this.
I watched the highlights on Youtube as I no longer watch UM games live. (I started this practice 2? seasons ago and I highly recommend it.) I just watch the condensed game/highlights after I already know the outcome; it’s far less aggravating.
A few random observations:
The improved talent level on the roster is noticeable .
The drop off after Ward at QB is also very noticeable. If Ward gets hurt, a 9+ win team becomes a 6+ win team. Also, the 2nd team OL didn’t look so hot.
The team looked sloppy and unfocused at times. Predictable when playing such a lesser opponent, I suppose. But, even still, they curb stomped FAMU badly and actually covered the 44.5 point spread.
Ward is very talented and moves well. He can turn busted plays into touchdowns with his scrambling ability. I wish he would set his feet on throws better at times. He has a tendency to throw off his back foot and/or side arm throws which tend to hang in the air and beg to be intercepted. That might eventually cost the team in a close game against a good opponent. But, overall, Ward is the best QB Miami has had since Dorsey. Too bad he graduates this year.
So, Ball State at home and USF away completes the cupcake series. USF away might be kind of a trap game if USF shows up to play and Miam doesn’t. Ball State at home should be an easy win unless Miami simply doesn’t show up and phones it in. (Yes, I’m jaded. Can you blame me?)
And it will take me years to get used to Cal and Stanford being in the ACC. Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.
