A few thoughts on Texas fans' behavior

Had Miami fans done what Texas’ fans did …it would be a constant chyron on every sports-news site.
It was nothing less than hooliganism …the likes of which is often associated with the worst of soccer “ultras”.

All it did was to show a fan-base with an entitled outlook. For all the millions (nay…billions) that has been collectively poured into the state’s college teams, all they have managed is one championship in the last however many years. Even if it was a “bad call” the reaction was worse than bush-league

The resulting "punishment " has been nothing more than a hand-slap and a finger-wag. Saturday nite I kept waiting for the refs to at least issue a 15 yd penalty for the game disruption…but nothing…only a call reversal.

It set a very dangerous precedent… If you don’t like a call, start throwing flotsam and jetsam on the field and cause a delay and maybe the officials will take the time to get together while the field is cleaned up and they just might reverse the call.

Let me be clear… the original call was atrocious. Absurd. But the debacle that followed was 100x worse.

UT fans were acting like a bunch of entitled, spoiled rotten assholes. And thanks to that SEC crew, they got their way by acting like brats. Awful.
