We had one helluva run at the end of the season, and but for a few plays we could have won the National Championship. Mario has done a wonderful job lifting the program as a real CEO type coach. During our late season, the Hurricanes dominated lines of scrimmage, something that we haven’t seen in more than two decades. Looking forward, the future of Canes football is bright as for the third straight season we’ve landed a superior QB. Furthermore, we landed Dereon Coleman, though young and small of stature, has a cannon for and arm, and I think may well turn out to be big and pleasant surprise for us in our QB room. We’re loaded at the skill positions. Cantwell is a world-class athlete that will anchor our offensive line coached expertly by the redoubtable Coach Alex Mirabal. Despite losing Bain and Mesidor, we still have a deep talent on the defensive line, and I think we’ll see improvement at LB. Our schedule next year looks conducive to having another very successful season, our biggest challenges being Clemson, North Carolina, and another bout with the Fighting Irish in the 9th game of the season.
