QB:
Alot will depend on if local stud Neimann Lawrence decides to re-classify to 2027. UM will supposedly make a heavy play, but it will be interesting how far we go with a HS QB when the portal model just seems to be the safer option if you have the means. Could see us taking 2 if one of them is Lawrence, as well. I will add his tape if he re-classifies but there is a handful of other names to know.

One of top names in nation. A bit raw, but quick release with whip-like arm strength. Commits to UM 4/3!

RB:
Color me shocked that all 5 RB stayed this offseason. UM adds new RB coach from Upshaw from the NFL. I think there’s a strong possibility we take two. Weak crop this year in Sofla and the whole state really.

Freakish size/speed combo. Mark Fletcher with another a gear. Near the top of UM’s board and we seem to be growing on him every day. 4/26 Update…UM finishes 2nd to Auburn. I imagine we try to change his mind, at least for a little while.

(ATH) 3 sport star (92+ off the mound and stud outfielder), and it seems if his offer is legit there is a great chance he is one of the two backs in this class. FSU/Aub/Ole Miss was the competition but the in-state Rebs were a little late to offer. Tall back with room to put on weight.

WR:
This, like corner, has been flooded with talent from both HS and the portal and is now a team strength. I’d say 3 is ehhh most likely but only 2 is a real possibility. Good local class, maybe not the best we’ve seen but definitely strong, lacks size, but we’ve recruited a lot of big X types last year.

Been making plays since he was a freshman and now making the move to Carol City although he will lose his QB, Lawrence. He is a pit bull in the Toney type, although taller with maybe less wiggle. 5* rated player.

(ATH) Jon’s nephew has a 10.8 under his belt. At a relatively new high school, and although I’m not sure if he’s a WR/CB I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in this class.

This may be the year UM finally breaks back into Texas. Top 3 here in late April for tall kid with nice speed.

TE:
We had thought to be recruiting position well, but lost Schott to portal and what’s been on the field is so-so. I think 2 is a little more likely than 1, but could be either and a lot depends on the development of Gilbert, Briggs, and Mueller. . New coach comes with a run blocking background.

(ATH). Local early commit with a Greg Rousseau type build, and raw growth trajectory. Supposedly up around 220 right now, so that’s a little bigger than Rousseau was this early. There is a chance he ends up at Edge as well, but I think he offense will be his first look and calling card.

OL:
Would expect 4 maybe 5 here, with a home run OT available locally. Off of big, excellent class last season wouldn’t be surprised if the number is 4. Tackle prospects, unless listed otherwise.

Top 5 player nationally and most consider UM the favorite. Hard to imagine CMC/Mirabal missing on a local stud at their specialty position, but recent info (late April) is saying TAMU (a team we beat in the playoffs, abusing their offensive line).

(G/T) One of the nation’s top interior OL. Former Bama commit, may be athletic enough for RT. Insane clips of dribbling the length of the court for a bucket in basketball. UM is really killing it in Alabama right now.

(IOL) Canes land possibly the top interior prospect on there board. Athletic enough to possibly play some RT in a pinch but should have a chance to contribute early in his career at guard.

Canes working to flip big Tackle prospect from Georgia. While blindside LT ability remains to be seen, can definitely stay at RT.
