2025 Offense Board

QB:
Miami got its guy early with Nickel, now they need to hang on to him. I could see us going portal again next year, unless the 3 way battle produces a clear cut winner.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/2264653/Luke-Nickel (GA) Um Commit
Led Georgia to a state championship in its highest classification. Continues to impress with release, accuracy, and although not a cannon, definitely enough arm.

RB:
I would think two here. But seems like it’s going to be 1 as staff likes what we have on roster.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16136226/Girard-Pringle UM Commit
New RB coach Merritt’s first commit from a school that UM always whiffs at. Stock is soaring, and he is a true home run threat with 10.6 speed. Nice get here.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/15887512/Byron-Louis FSU Commit
Same high school as Mark Fletcher, but lot of former teammates at FSU as well. Nice size, speed, vision combo…Top local kid I think could have been UM’s but it seems like UM may be standing pat with one RB this year

WR:
Home run last year for Kevin Beard even without Jeremiah Smith. We may bring something in via portal this summer, and I wouldn’t be surprised if next winter as well as we’ll likely lose George, Restrepo, and possibly the summer addition. 3 the likely number, but I could see only two as well.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16589301/Dallas-Wilson Oregon Commit
One of the top overall players on UM’s board and one of the top WR’s in the country. Canes and others pushing hard for a flip here.

Joshua Moore's Video "Sophomore Spring Season " UM Commmit
Couldn’t find hudl here, but physical specimen that UM, FSU, and a few others are on. Not sure he could commit today here in late April, but his UM recruitment definitely seems serious.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/17846385/Malachi-Toney UM Commit
Stud WR and year-long WR commit reclassifies from loaded 26 class to this year. Looks really polished as a slot, but also has length and raw speed to possibly play outside. **Update: Decommits-Recommits

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13460248/Vernell-Brown-III UF Commit

Others: Teddy Hoffman, Delray Beach (FAU commit)

TE:
Will be interesting to see if the position is used more this year…The safe bet is yes, although to what degree? They will take 1, with an outside chance of 2, and there seems to be a big net being cast, definitely not like an offense that won’t use the TE much. Not much in-state this year.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/15722934/Brock-Schott (IN) UM Commit
Canes win out over OSU for one of nation’s TE. Lofton type that you can move around…Plays violently on defense as well.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16177173/Luka-Gilbert (OH) UM Commit
Big inline kid. Very strong blocker with good straight line speed. Outside chance he grows into a tackle, but nice looking TE prospect for now. Commits 4/8 to UM!

OL:
I’d expect 4, maybe 5 here as CMC and Mirabal continue to build this as a real strength of the team year-in/year-out.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16077311/SJ-Seuseu-Alofaituli (NV) UM Commit
CMC and Mirabal have been recruiting him since their Oregon days from his national power HS, Gorman…They literally have 6 D1 OL senior OL this season. 7/5 UM keeps the Gorman pipeline going with his commit. Probably top center prospect int he nation.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16212323/Max-Buchanan UM Commit
Versatil Central FLA linemen that UM seems to be high on. Could project to multiple positions on the OL

https://www.hudl.com/profile/17171320/Solomon-Thomas FSU Commit
Early commit to FSU…But CMC and Mirabal will go to the very end here for what is likely their top tackle prospect.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/18017863/demetrius-campbell UM Commit

https://www.hudl.com/profile/16561648/Saquon-Miles Troy Commit
Big juco kid recently offered by UM. Starting to blow up with offers, and that Troy commit won’t last long.

Added some WR…TE/OL hopefully next week at the latest.

Cristobal and Woodall land 2 of the nation’s best TE in the last week…Looks like they have bigger plans for the position than they showed last year.

They were targeted quite a few times today.

So, OL Lamar Williams decommits per Sun-Sentinel. Does this mean anything? Don’t see the name mentioned.

I took him off the list after the de-commit.

Both boards up to date as of 5/12…New updates based mainly from DMoney as well as the Life Wallet group.

Sorry, what I meant is… Is this any kind of loss? Was the fellow a good prospect? Or sort of pushed out?

The word is they didn’t like what they saw during this spring…Bad initial evaluation, he was always thought to be a bit raw, but had upside. Apparently they just changed their mind on him.

OL and WR cleaned up with commits elsewhere

Both boards semi-updated/cleaned up.

Additional OL name added

As well as WR commit Toney, who reclassifies to this 25 class…

Saw in the Herald that Toney decommitted and Joshua Moore committed. Any info on the Toney move?

Seems to be reports that UM focusing on bigger WR… And he may be snooping around for some more NIL

Probably a combo of both which means UM is not ready to take his NIL to levels he may be after because of what they are looking for at WR right now…Also, maybe they weren’t quite as on board with him reclassifying? It doesn’t sound like he was forced out, but they may not fight to get him back in.

I hope he gets back in, because I like his game, but they seem to love Upshaw, although he will be pressed by Auburn to the very end.

He’s back in. RE-Commited.

That’s what winning games gets you…

Is that it for WR for the class?

Seems like a nice three of Moore, Toney, and Upshaw.

They will recruit Vernell Brown and Dallas Wilson to the end, both are longshots, I’d say Brown the more likely of the two he maybe goes from long shot to “wrong side of coin flip” if Gates can Napier. Unless they circle back on Cortez mills (Is Venables safe?) but someone on one side seemed to piss the other off or vice versa or both in that recruitment. Not sure on Ty Williams, I think there was a window for him but not sure how serious we’ll chase with Moore in the fold.

There is also a chance that Upshaw ends up at Auburn. For now he’s saying the right things. Either way, I think it’s a lock to say we go to the portal for a WR, and an outside chance of 2…And if any of our guys transfer, or Horton declares (man I hope not, can be a top 5 WR in CFB next year imo) then we replace on a 1-1 basis in addition to the 1.
