DT
I think 3 with a chance of 4 here. Probably the top need on the team right now.
Junior Season UM Commit
UM battling local fav FSU and UCF. Kid has connections in Miami and is near the top of UM’s board. Commits to UM 7/14

5* pulls shocking flip out of the blue to UM from OSU late November. Right there with David Stone as the best DT in the country. Big 3 tech who can help everywhere along the line. Moves like he’s 260-270

(DL) Little bit of a tweener mystery take here for UM. Has all the intangibles. Also rumors that he hit a growth spurt this offseason but can’t verify.

(DL). Flips back and forth but CMC and no doubt a BIG NIL kept him hom. Would have been clear #1 player in tri county for 2025, but re-classified. Started career at Dillard. Total stud who likely ends up inside and a big win as CMC continues to build the fence.
DE/Edge
I cannot imagine Jason Taylor not being a hit on the recruiting trail. I’d say 3 here.

UM legacy that needs weight but is super explosive off the edge. A bit of a tweeter, but UM talking about possibly playing him at LB. His senior tape is excellent. Stock up imo.

UM flips DE from Michigan. Was at Deerfield Beach for spring only now back to Cincinnati Taft high school where he played his first three years of ball. Just point of reference, I had him rated in the 11-12 range in ti-county thread when he was supposed to line up at Deerfield. UPDATE 12/23…Signs with UM but may be headed to Juco for a year.

UM over OSU for one of the top pass rushers in the country.

(ATH) One of the top players for the '25 class is re-classifying and signing in February. Also looks good on the offensive side of the ball. UM/GA/Bama battle supposedly and high priority.
LB:
2 with a chance of 3…Offers were slow to come out with the coaching change, but Nicholson now seems to be very active on trail. Guidry supposedly has a SAM on the field about 30 % of time (Moreso than last 2 staffs)…But even still, like basically every other position in the back 7 today…Lot of overlap with some of the safety/nickle types we’re recruiting.

(S/LB) Big hitting safety that projects as a LB at UM. Currently moving him in rankings and rightfully so. Going to have to fight off Bama though, who finally offered late summer.

Big size/speed combo here. Flips to UM on signing day. Great job by Nicholson at the position this year.
Others:
.
CB:
I would expect at least 3 ofter summer attrition There are a couple guys that we are recruiting, in fact it seems to be an emphasis, that can play nickel, corner, and perhaps safety. Versatility is being emphasize in back 7s in both CFB/NFL Today. DVD out of the picture (I’d expect him back in coming years). Board has been very hard to read but now starting to take form. No real high 4 or 5* type at the position in Sofl, but the position is deep

5* kid, top corner in the nation, originally from NY. Had interest in UM early on and then the Georgia commit. No idea how serious he is about looking around but UM keeps chopping away and appear to be in his top 2 outside of Bulldogs.

(CB/Nickle) Son of former Cane Rod Mack…Like him as a nickel or corner, but plays a lot of safety as well.

(CB/S). One of our top targets and can project to both positions but may be growing out of corner. Traditionally a tough area for UM to get into, but and his stud DL teammate MCray he would be welcome.
End Of Season Highlights UM Commit
Deerfield Beach transfer to STA For senior year. Two way standout flips from WVU to Canes.

(S/CB/Nickle) Under the radar kid who Guidry (bayou native) offered at Marshall, Tulane, and now UM. Love the tape, as it shows snaps at nickel, safety, and corner. Looks like a nice get albeit not the star power some may like.
Safety:
Again there is some position overlap, but this is just as big if not more of a need than corner. Would expect 2-3. This list is a little more impressive and clear than the CB list here as of Mid-April.

One of top players in Sofla. Eraser type box safety that will take you out. Playmaker, blocks kicks, etc… Not slow, can run and cover as well but plays a ton in the box. UM lands commitment on 8/26, now need to hold on to him because FSU still heavily involved.

Originally from Canada. Great frame and can move. Physical. Similar game to Patterson, and may be able to handle deep coverage. Underrated because of knee injury junior year but bounced back in camps last couple months. UPDATE: Another senior knee injury, unfortunately?
