2023 Offense Board

QB:
https://www.hudl.com/profile/11604959/Emory-Williams. UM Commit
Commits to UM 6/20! I think this is an underrated kid and top 20-25 QB in the nation. I actually think it’s not much of a drop-off between him and Rashada and that’s not a knock on Rashada.

RB:
I’d say 1, with a fair chance at 2…Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some attrition at the position along the line either.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11744607/Mark-Fletcher UM Commit
Top local target…Recently decommited OSU. Commits to UM

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13162248/Cedric-CJ-Baxter. Texas Commit
(ATH) Another in-state top 10 back with plus size…This one with sprinter speed. Also a stud LB. UM’s #1target commits to Texas. FSU may be pushing here.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/15415636/Christopher-Johnson UM Commit
(ATH) Dillard kid who just won state 100/200 meters. Big speed here. Just needs some weight if going to stay at RB.

WR:
I’d expect at least 3, and more than likely 4. Huge local class that we all know about by now

https://www.hudl.com/profile/15027968/Robby-Washington UM Commit
(ATH). Absolutely electric…Has played HS ball in GA and Miss (I believe), as well. Exploded at Killian last year. Maybe top slot in entire country, but also strong and sturdy enough to possibly be a Duke Johnson type at RB.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11207420/Nathaniel-Joseph UM Commit
Dangerous big play guy at Edison…If you make me call it, I’d say Robbie Washington is a little better. But Joseph is a beast small option as well. Having big senior season and is outspoken ambassador for the class

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13104371/Micah-Mays Wake Commit

TE:

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11669369/Riley-Williams (OR). UM Commit
Recently announced he’s transferring to IMG. I believe this is TE #1 on UM’s board and Field lands him as part of a 3 man class.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/15653761/jackson-carver (IN). UM Commit
Playing a post grad year in Connecticut. New to the game, originally from Minnesota where he starred in hockey and lacrosse. Was committed to ND For lacrosse. Played football in Indianapolis for one year. Iowa wanted him and if you look at their NFL output, they know w thing or two about TE.

OL:
Expect a strong 5 here, with a chance of 6 (maybe subtract one from each of those if we pull the Conerly shocker to round out '22 class)…Going to be fun to watch Cristobal and Mirabal work. We are seriously involved with the best of the best, and will get a better idea of pecking order outside of the top 100 national types int he coming months.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/14959888/Francis-Mauigoa. UM Commit
From the west coast originally now at IMG. Oregon was clear top 2 before Cristobal’s move here. His uncle is UM DL coach Joe S!.. Commits to UM 7/4! Should be an instant impact with only right or left side to be determined. As important a commit as UM has had in recent years.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13693403/Frankie-Tinilau UM Commit
Orignially from Australia, playing senior year at Miami LaSalle. Recent pics have shown he has reshaped his body from Australia tape. On the radar and starting to garner attention. Committed 4/11

https://www.hudl.com/profile/12941265/Antonio-Tripp (MD) UM Commit
UM hitting the DMV area hard and he is the first OL commit of what should be a monster OL class. Interior prospect that has played up and down the line for his high school team. Big school Maryland football is very, very underrated and some of there better teams have performed quite well out of state in recent years.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13401354/Samson-Okunlola (MA) UM Commit
Maybe the top offensive linemen in the nation. Visited UM in July during legends weekend. 1A and 1B with Mauigoa. 12/15 Commits to UM…6th time in 247 history 2 5* OL in same class.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/14920586/tommy-kinsler UM Commit
De-committed from UF. Committed to UM 7-28. Big RT prospect who maybe slides inside.

As always thank you Skeeter for the information and update.

I want 5-6 6’5+ 300 pounders on the OL. Once the OL works, receivers and backs all of a sudden get open. Make it happen

Seems like we definitely looking at bigger bodies OL…Outside of Conerly, who is special. And I would expect 5, unless we land him…And maybe even then.

Tight ends added

As usual…All feedback and discussion welcome.

I dont see young Irvin leaving his ND commitment especially not for Miami.

I think 2 RBs is the move.

I can see Mario going heavy with WRs due to the number of local studs.

Definitely need 1 QB (1 every class) and at least 2 TEs.

By my rough count, we may be looking at 15 offensive signings:

1 QB
2 RB
5 WR
2 TE
5 OL

10 spots for defense, which is scary since we have so many holes on that side.

Ya I don’t think we want him, at least not at this time. I also think he’s a little overrated, surprised Irish took him that early. Decent back for sure.

If we assume 25 exactly, I think it could look like this

1 QB
1 RB
4 WR
1 TE
5 OL
1 P (even if it’s a walk-on who you give a schools)

5 DL (slanted a little heavier towards DT)
3 LB
3 CB
1 S

A lot depends what we do with that 11th man on defense…Will we ever have 3 LB on field at once? Will the hybrid lean more towards a nickel type, or an OLB type…Also, portal dictates so much nowadays

The absolute bare minimum for the spots would be
1 of QB, RB, TE, S
3 WR
5 OL (unless add Connerly, then can do 4, but I’m sure they want to load up here no matter what…I’d bet on 5. And bet on 6 over 4 if no Connerly)
2 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 2 CB
1 P

So that leaves 4 flex spots if add and who knows maybe we get more than 25 in. I like the idea of a 2nd RB as well, but I always do lol

We might actually take more than 25. I think we can get a few early enrollees towards the 2022 class since we did not take a full class. We should also be able to take 7 portal kids so those will dictate the positions of the HS kids as well.

All positions complete…And of course will add and subtract names throughout the year.

Great post, Skeeter. So easy to watch highlights of each player. Last night, I watched the films of all the RBs. Three I really liked were Cedric Baxter, Daylan Smothers., and Mark Fletcher. Baxter has both size and speed, leaves defenders in dust. Smothers has really great feet, very elusive, good hands, small but just looks to me like a football player. Fletcher is a power back who quite well could be a 240 lb battering ram. If he can get a step or two, he’s going to be a problem to take down.

Rivals shows WR Andy Jean as de-committed now. Any idea if true or why?

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2023/andy-jean-270838

Story here: Andy Jean decommits from Miami Hurricanes - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Yeah…Really hoping the Andy Jean de-commit is temporary…Wouldn’t shock me if he comes back on board. Has friends on the squad, including Kinchens

Added couple new OL names.

yes please on Rashada. his tape checks out

Skeeter , is it possible to use a different type or color when you add new names? It would make it much easier to follow. Thanks

No idea…But I do delete plenty throughout the course of the year. The recent OL added were Cline from Georgia and nationally ranked Alinen from Connecticut

Some TE/OL added/deleted

And updated for new Australian OL commit

Some new names added to both boards as well as some deletions

Both offense and defense board will be cleaned up and new names added tonite and next day or so…Just a heads up.

UPDATE: OFFENSE DONE
