2021 Offense Board

QB: (1)…Could end up with another Portal option until Van Dyke is ready as well? Maybe we find something outta the recycled Perry and Matocha pile too?

*Jalen Milroe- TX (TX Commit)

*Jake Garcia- CA (USC Commit)

RB: Would prefer 2 here, but I’m not sure that will happen. Creating a nice stable with this year’s freshman, and hopefully Franklin. Chance that the 2nd back could be an all-purpose guy, like Yul Brown, who I have listed under WR.

*Thad Franklin- RB UM Commit

Stud power back re- commit. PSU making a big push.

?Amari Daniels

UM seems to be turning up the heat. He has been productive at 2 high schools since his freshman year. May not be the superstar as was predicted early on, but thought junior tape was better than soph stuff, and I think he’s a real nice #2 back in this class.

WR: (3-4)… Liked what we got here last year, but it’s obvious that Lashlee/Likens are looking to add speed and weapons.

*Romeo Brinson, UM Commit

Silky Smooth 6’3 kid, one of the best players in the state of Florida.

*Jacolby George UM Commit

Rumors he hit a growth spurt and is around 6’0 now. Re-committed early June.

*Jaden Alexis (Texas Commit) WR/ATH

No real weaknesses and the skill set to play slot or outside or even corner. One of most explosive athletes in the country.

*Yul Brown Slot/ATH (TAMU Commit)

Big play slot that may be sturdy enough to handle some carries out of the backfield.

*Brashard Smith Slot/Ath UM COMMIT

Played RB early on at Palmetto before moving to WR full time last season. Probable slot at UM. Really shows some hands on tape to go with his big play ability.

*Malik Curtis WR/ATH UM Commit

Could end up on either side of the ball, but Likens/Lashlee seem to be winning out, and I like him on that side better as well. Deep threat and natural returner… possibly the sleeper of the class.

Others: Keon Coleman, LA

TE: (1-2) UM got it’s two and sounds like they will stick. 2 of the top 10 TE in the nation

*** Khalil Brantley UM Commit**

*Elijah Arroyo TX, UM Commit

Originally from Dade County. UM beat out Tamu for his pledge

OL (3-5) I would prefer 4 here, but all of a sudden this position is looking stronger…Both for this season and the future.

*Mike Mclaughlin, UM Commit

*Laurence Seymore, UM Commit

UndersizSEC powers are sniffing. Younger bro, a WR is also committed to UM. This kid destroys opposing DL, both in camps and on field.

*Ryan Rodriguez, UM Commit

Very underrated kid that projects at center or guard.

*Austin Barber

Former Minny Commit getting a long look from UM. 12/7 UM OFFERS

Getting excited for McLaughlin. Got to have this guy be ready in 2022.

Brinson and Smith are going to be instant impact players. I like the fact this year’s starters are coming on and starting to deliver against their promise. But the competition hasn’t been there to push them the way they need to be pushed.

Brinson and Smith are BALLERS. Even if they don’t see the field too much to start the 2021 season, the pressure they put on the starters to perform will help immensely. Our WR game is going to be night and day vs. the first half of this season.

King better be straight with Lashlee and Diaz on his intentions. Because if he’s gong pro, and I see only a little reason for him to stay, we desperately need a portal transfer of equivalent or better caliber to face Bama in our first game of 2021.

I think Smith may even see some time in an all purpose back role…As well as the slot. If nothing else an emergency back if we don’t take another next year.

Agree Skeeter. Given how big he is now, I think he could be moved around as a chess piece. He’s got the versatility.

Did you see the article on Palmetto’s “playoff” game win? Apparently the starting QB went down in the first quarter and Smith took over as the wildcat QB, scored the one TD drive of the whole game, which was enough to win it. Had a lot of help from DT Taylor, who forced a punt deep in Dr. Krop’s territory to set up the drive.

*I put “playoff” in quotes, because the South Florida teams have played so few games every team was apparently qualified for the playoffs which just began after a 1-4 game regular season. Hard times.

What’s the board’s general consensus on McLaughlin? I know that he is a 4 star, but I have seen/heard people be down on him and I see in Skeeter’s Rankings topic that he is ranked last (and after the dividing line).

I would not count myself amongst those that can evaluate tape (especially high school OL tape), but what are people’s takes on him?

Realize when you see the 2 tiers…That in past classes there was kids in a 3rd tier. McLaughlin is a take all day, no problem with him. Just a little raw

We used to have 4 tiers, LOL. The Shannon/Golden specials. Thank god that’s over with.

Well Diaz/Richt did it differently, they took preferred walkons and gave them ships.

Ragone
Few
James
Parrot
Griffin

The good news, we can use those ships to sign a large class in 22. The bad news, we have played well below the potential talent level allowed for 15 years.

I would be ok with this if we were such hot shit that kids who were legit takes came as preferred walk-ons (I think this might have been more common 25 years ago), but we know that is not the case for these guys…

UM offers Austin Barber, no idea if it’s committable, as he signs in February, so they may see how it shakes out. Like the kid though. RT or Guard.

I like the kid a ton!

I want Payton, Garcia, Barber, plus two CB. Yes, no GT. Then hope the ncaa allows Transfers with no IC needed. We then grab some potential starters for the positions that leave early for the NFL.

Seems like we are passing on Payton as of now.

No doubt that he is a project for a year but I think he becomes a good P5 speed rusher.

2021- Harvey, Cam, Williams, Williams plus freshmen. That won’t cut it so I can see why they want to save a spot in case the ncaa doesn’t allow IC less transfers. Now if Payton can wait until Feb, take him and a couple transfers.

Joyner as well…And I wouldn’t be surprised if we hit up the portal again. Leo Taylor or Roberts may be able to help outside as well. I agree with you though it is a bit thin. I’m just saying someone on 247 said UM hasn’t offered and he may be part of the numbers crunch.
