They look joyful to me. Looting has been a commonplace happening under the glorious Biden/Harris administration. Shame Chicago, which is a great town, has been subjected to failed governance for decade after decade.
You seem to be confusing the raw emotion of joy with a derivative slogan for a political campaign. They’re not the same thing.
I’ve never seen the amount of joy that we see in the Harris campaign. It’s the most joyful campaign that I’ve seen in modern history. I think I’ll vote for them now because they represent happy.

Looting is only one manifestation characteristic of Democrat governance. Other criminal activities more often occurring in Democrat cities would be knock out games, flash mobbing, burning down police stations, and pushing innocents off subway platforms. These crimes are accompanied by violence, making life in Democrat-governed cities more dangerous than in better governed cities. In my own town, a conservative bastion, these crimes never happen. Ergo, we are dwelling more happily.

I live in Pensacola Beach, 13 miles from Pensacola. For the last 44 years, I’ve never locked my doors. Even with the substantial number of tourists frequenting the beach bars, crime is not much of a concern. Our community is one of the most concentrated Republican venues in the area. Matt Gaetz is our congressman. Pensacola Beach is one of the top ten beaches on the planet. It is comprised of crystaline white sand washed down from the Blue Ridge mountains. Our town adjoins Fort Pickens National Seashore area, or about twenty miles of beach which will never be developed. East of Pensacola Beach is another twenty miles of National Seashore. Across the channel leading into Pensacola Bay is yet more National Shore, never to be developed.
Below is a picture of part of Pensacola Beach where I reside. Between Pensacola Beach and Pensacola, you have the City of Gulf Breeze whose schools have the highest test scores in the state. Per capita income in Gulf Breeze is substantially higher than that of Boca Raton.
At the top of the photo, you can see the City of Pensacola all the way across the bay more than 13 miles away.
Pensacola Beach is about 8 miles from Pensacola.
Interestingly, this looted train yard is about 8 miles from the center of Chicago.
It’s just ghetto culture. Not exclusive to Chicago. No different than those looting the high end stores in Beverly Hills or downtown Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore etc.
I’ve been to a lot of these cities traveling for work in the last year and it’s funny how all the Uber drivers say the same thing about how there used to be nice retail downtown until the teenage thugs ruined things.
That happened where I live in Indianapolis too. There used to be a mall downtown that was nice at one point in time, probably about 15-20 years ago. After the fights and shootings and just general state of the mall they shut it down.
Two other malls in the city, not downtown, suffered the same fate. There are only a couple of malls that are nice and I’m waiting for them to be ruined as well.
Downtown LA started a bustling resurgence about 10 years ago, with a lot of new swanky places opening, lots of new business.
Covid probably put a damper on the whole thing, but there’s no doubt it is better today than it was 20 years ago. I hope the uptrend continues.
Ehhh…The area goes bad first. The teenage thugs don’t randomly conspire to bring down a mall or strip.
I guess bad is a relative term. The inner harbor of Baltimore is one example. There are bad areas that aren’t far from there and they’ve been creeping into that area. The area itself is still pretty nice with some high end hotels and night life, but my driver told me about a lot of the teens ruining the area.
Incidentally, I didn’t bring up politics. He was a black guy and he specifically mentioned that he’s tired of the Democrat mayors there and Trump says a lot of things that are right but he just doesn’t know when to shut his mouth. He said if the guy would just shut up more people would go for him.
I think there’s definitely truth there.
I concur… He’s a blabbering fool. But at least the other blabbering fool candidate may cancel that out.
