Just noticing that SMU is destroying Virginia. Here we have one of the great misjudgments of talent by Miami. Brashard Smith, used sparingly as a WR here at the U, transferred to SMU. Smart Lashlee turned Smith into a RB, and it looksl like Brashard Smith will be named to an All American team this year.
I like Mario but man I wish we never let Lashlee get away. Love him. He’s doing amazing things at SMU.

Welp…we’re not the only ones who have declined sharply. It’s 1:45 AM and I’m watching the USC Trojans struggle with the hapless Bruins. Miami’s decline is due to our AD’s bad decisions.
A jug-eared jackass who should have been fired …but was kept on for 6 years. A clueless Randy Shannon (the man who hired Patrick Nix). Al Golden who flushed away Miami’s chances by holding on to D’Onofrio… Mark Richt …bless his heart …gave his all but he was out of gas by the time he got here. Finally …Manny tried…but …the job (IMHO) was too “big”.

Is he? I just don’t love him on Saturdays. I see so many of the same things that have haunted us forever but this year, Cam is covering up the losses we’d have. Manny was 7-5 in year 3 and then let go. Are we closer to that record or are we closer to contending for national championships? I mean, he’s ending year three and I still see a defense that needs to be overhauled and too many mistakes out of the team overall that don’t get fixed.
We played Wake after a week off and it’s 20-14 in the 4th quarter. This isn’t really a top ten team, I don’t believe. If they can win at Syracuse, they will have at least earned a spot vs SMU for the conference as the resume’ is better than Clemson’s currently. (beat Florida, won @ UL) vs (lost to UGA, lost at home vs UL) but don’t think for a minute that this game will be easy. None have been in a while. It just seems like we’re still closer to being that 7-5 team that Manny had in year 3 than a true contender.
We are the worst looking top 10 team in the bunch in my opinion.
We’re the one team of the elite tier that can lose to anyone any night.
Without Cam this team struggles to be .500

If Miami could have a decent defense right now I’d feel really good. Teams that are playing us have the game plan. Sustain long drives and nickel and dime us down the field.
Or just torch us with the run or pass in chunks. Pick your poison. They played better against Wake, so that is at least a positive.
