We had a surplus of $27 billion in June and a budget deficit of $291 billion in July. The surplus from June was from a budget timing shift - government payments usually due on June 1 were delayed bc that date fell on a weekend, pushing them into May’s. Adjusted for timing, June 2025 would actually reflect a $71 billion deficit, not a surplus.

I can’t speak for anyone else. I’m happy to see Canada taking steps toward making a deal. I look forward to an actual trade agreement between our countries, which always should have been the goal instead of the useless theatrics
I think it will happen too. Ever since Trump TACOed on his crazy tariff scheme, he has actually gotten a few things done. Canada and Mexico are very important and should be prioritized.
These deals could have gotten done without all the theatrics from Trump. He just wants his name and image in the media every day. He has to have people talk about him. China is still laughing at him.
