I said they don’t allow difference makers to make differences (it was a general statement about how these boards operate).

Anyway- I still remember the day after I was appointed. They asked me to come in and meet the Superintendent which I did. I then go sit down with the Business Administrator to introduce myself and learn about different committees and the agenda in general. After the 5 minutes of pleasantries she begins to talk about how 98% of the budget is already set. Only 2% is discretionary. New members shouldn’t get too excited about initiatives because all of these decisions have already been made…. Yada yada yada…

I’ve talked to other School Board members in my new town since moving in. Very similar situation. Most of this shit is being directed by Trenton and the State Senators that own the districts.

Public education should be completely devoid of politics but it’s obvious that, at least in NJ, politics drives public education.

Let’s reitterate, shall we? You alluded to you being a difference maker. You were called out for NOT being a difference maker and then doubled down, saying you consider yourself a difference maker.

And to answer the direct IMPLICATION or assertion here. I can’t help what YOU INFER. I can only tell you that I didn’t say I WAS a difference maker…. Only that I ATTEMPTED TO make a difference and explained, quite thoroughly, why I was unable to.

I also find it quite strange for you to keep on this line of investigation. I’m not really sure what you are trying to prove here.

You think I’m not a difference maker? Ok. That’s fine with me. I’m not a proud person and quite frankly, your opinion of me isn’t any of my business nor am I interested in knowing it.

I get enough affection and attention from the people in my life to care or be bothered by your thoughts or opinions of me.
