I have read the entire court transcript. Trayvon might have killed George Zimmerman had Zimmerman not had a legally concealed firearm. Trayvon was the aggressor in the fight, and he was bashing Zimmerman’s head on a concrete sidewalk when he was shot.
Trayvon told his girlfriend that he enjoyed punching people in the nose because he liked seeing the explosion of blood. Trayvon was also reported to have punched a bus driver in the face. He had multiple suspensions from school Trayvon was found with stolen jewelry in his school locker together with burglary tools. Trayvon’s social media account showed photos of him smoking pot, talking about fighting and making the street drug Lean, and holding a semi-automatic pistol in his hand. Trayvon’s police record was suppressed by the police department.
It’s the tone that you use with the mere mention of his name. It’s as if he did something to you personally. No one in this room would have ever heard about Trayvon or Zimmerman if Zimmerman had stayed in the car; like he was asked to do. The situation was totally preventable. Zimmerman put himself in that situation by engaging with someone that he did not have the skill set to engage with.
Yes, Trayvon beat the crap out of him and it cost him his own life. Zimmerman followed him, not the other way around. So as far as I can tell, Trayvon feared for his life and defended himself. I guess his life is insignificant since he was such a troublemaker right? It doesn’t happen if Zimmerman stayed in his car. Once Zimmerman called the police, his part was over. But no! Read the trial transcript. You’ve gotten the facts completely wrong. Trayvon returned to his apartment, then doubled back and was according to witnesses at trial, the aggressor. George Zimmerman was portrayed as a racist when in fact, he was a race activist. It was Zimmerman who stood in front of black churches handing out pamphlets related to a black Seminole County man beaten and abused by a sheriff’s deputy. It was through his activism, the deputy was brought to trial and the victim was awarded a judgment.
Zimmerman’s grandmother was a BLACK Peruvian, and he grew up in a multi-racial household. Zimmerman has gotten into domestic trouble since the trial. Moreover, he has behaved foolishly. Additionally, an attempt was made on his life, and he will carry a target on his back for the remainder of his life.
Trayvon was no innocent, nor was he raised by his mother who has capitalized financially on his death. Trayvon was a cruel, jaded youth, constantly in trouble, who bragged about hurting people. He was suspended from school and found with stolen jewelry. The only indication of love for Trayvon was that of Alicia Stanley, his stepmother, who raised Trayvon from the time he was 3 until he was 15. Stanley was the rock in Trayvon’s sad life. When Trayvon was sent back to his mother, he ingested shortly thereafter his first dose of Lean.
George Zimmerman complied with the directions given by the police dispatcher. He was warned not to follow out of consideration for his (Zimmerman’s) safety. George Zimmerman was a member of Neighborhood Watch. He indeed followed Trayvon which was not against any law, especially inasmuch as he had a titled authority to be vigilant. Zimmerman complied with the dispatcher’s recommendation and was returning to his vehicle when attacked by Trayvon.
My interest in the case is a matter of justice which eventually was realized with Zimmerman’s acquittal, but the full measure of the press and state were rallying against this man, and he was badly mischaracterized while Trayvon, a young thug, was practically canonized. That Trayvon was an innocent youth hectored by a racist is a myth that deserves being dispelled. That Zimmerman won in the case was an amazing testament to a formidable defense attorney; the judge in the case was in the bag for the prosecution. The entire matter was blown out of proportion, and considering the evidence, it should never have eventuated in a court trial. Zimmerman did not commit any crime whatsoever. He was the victim of a mugging, which is most definitely a crime, and he successfully defended himself.
That no one is this room ever heard about certain information is not surprising consider the biased reporting of the media. I followed this case carefully, and I have read the trial transcript and testimony of EVERY witness. The same thing happened to Chauvin who in a neutral venue IMO would have been exonerated. The same thing is happening with the reporting on Ukraine. Very few articles examine what predicated Putin’s intervention in Ukraine and the wholly fallacious proposition that Putin is losing a war to a rag tag, Nazi-infested Ukrainian army. The war will be over in a month. Arming Ukrainians is bad diplomacy and just provokes Putin using harsher methods. Russians Byelorussians consider this war as fighting for the Father Land. It is easy for us as Americans who haven’t had a war on our own soil since the Civil War to side with Ukrainians, but if you’ve studied Russian history, you’ll find a constant struggle on Russian soil since the time of the Napoleanic Wars. Sorry if Putin considers Ukraine and Belarus part of Russia. The entire modern state of Russia began in Kiev and only later spread to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Sanity dictates stopping this conflict before it spreads, especially when the U.S. and NATO will not expend our troops to fight for Ukraine. Don’t let Putin start using his vast storage of Father of All Bombs and even worse nuclear weapons. Stop half-hearted support of Ukraine, but send aid to the rebuilding of the nation.

I mentioned race as a material fact that it would incongruous for Zimmerman to be a racist, and he was not, at least up until he was mugged by Trayvon. If you believe Trayvon was an innocent victim, then you misunderstand the entire matter, and you need to do your homework.
I believe Trayvon responded to what he felt was a threat to him. It would be nice to ask what was going through his mind, but we don’t have that luxury.

Unfortunately, this culture is prevalent among African-American youth who hero worship neighborhood thugs engaged in lawlessness, especially drugs.
So let’s look at the heroes of radical Black supremacist groups such as BLM. Their heroes are Trayvon, Michael “the Gentle Giant,” Johnson, and George Floyd. What a miserable group of individuals to hold in high esteem. As Candace Owens laments, all of these young people were thugs unworthy of reverence. And, as time passes, their transgressions are buried by their fame as being martyrs.
I am sympathethic to the poor in America, but I believe too that we suffer from perceptual low expectations, always lowering the bar, lowering standards, discriminating to end discrimination as is occurring in Affirmative Action Admissions where victimhood is transferred to someone undeserving of same. Justice must be as free from corruption as possible and the 14th Amendment should not have the remnants of the Bakke Decision in which governmental discrimination is found to be both permissible and purportedly not invidious so long as there is a “compelling state interest.” This question will be revisited in an upcoming case before the Supreme Court filed by Asians against graduate professional schools both at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. I believe affirmative action will have lived out its existence which Sandra Day O’Conner stipulated would last some 50 years. I am much opposed to bending the Constitution and reject wholly the concept of a “Living Constitution” favored by many liberal scholars.
As once a high school disciplinarian, I found that the best rehabilitation of minority youth occurred in the military where a highly structured, team work approach created a respect for authority and fostered interracial harmony. With intractable students, I was huge recruiter for both the Army and Marine Corp, and I saw miraculous changes inf young men, formerly thugs, turned into good citizens. This too is what athletic teams are all about. A commonality of goals creates mutual good will among team members. Community programs creating teams can advance prosperity in America.
