That was a nice playcall and a nice toss.
So long as Beck is not rushed too hard, he plays well.
Felt Cam covered a lot. And there were some times I wish he threw it away. Seem to remember Dawson not getting the love two years ago and being hailed last year. Methinks Cam was a big part of that.
Meanwhile, in Bloomington… Fernando Mendoza on his way to a possible Heisman… ripping it up in the B1G. Kid is a BALLER. We saw firsthand when we stole one in Berkeley.
He should have been a 'Cane… ![]()
I know bikki liked that TD pass with two backs in the backfield.
For once, I got what I wanted.![]()
Just checked the score and the highlights, don’t have to sweat this one out, apparently.
Beck seems to have played well and the defense has been great.
Where’s @djrion when we need him? Ground and pound.
Wow! That was a bad call.
Too many penalties as usual. Glad to see they took the three instead of running it up the middle.
Maybe Dawson finally learned his lesson.
Not having Fletcher hurts but isn’t fatal.
Meanwhile, BC might beat GT?
And SC blew at 30-3 halftime lead to lose 31-30 at TAM.
Pringle has been impressive.
This is the 3rd straight week where a bullshit penalty calls back a Canes TD. Unbelievable.
30 - 3 but same difference. I had already notched the A&M loss and they came back. Wild that after a 30 point half, SC couldn’t get a single FG in the 2nd.
He’s been really fun to watch. Glad to see him balling against a bad team. It remains to be seen how he does with a higher level of competition.
And that was a bullshit pass interference call.
Now Beck can’t miss.
I wanted a shut out, but that probably won’t happen now.
Down side of giving the 2nd team reps. It was lame to give their QB something to be happy about, but it’s meaningless garbage time.
What was that penalty? Disconcerting signals? They really throw the rulebook at Miami.
To call the stat line lopsided would be quite the understatement. I hope this is a case of building some confidence and starting to play well at the right time of the season. It’d be a nice change for this program.
We saw our most complete game of the season. We saw the emergence of RB Pringle. Carson Beck didn’t get much of a rush and performed admirably. Incredibly, we saw an old dog, Shannon Dawson, learning new tricks. I didn’t think Dawson was movable from his rush the middle tendency, but what do you know. Keilan Marion made some nice plays .Mali was his usual stupendous self. The defense was superb, especially the secondary. Miami was dominating.
A solid win against a decent, not great, NC State team. At least Miami didn’t give away the first half as they have in several games, including their two narrow losses to teams they should have beaten.
Would have been nice to get the shutout. When was the last time Miami blanked a non-cupcake team? It has been awhile?
Not gonna complain, 41-7 is great.
Miami may move up a slot or two in the rankings this week. But, has no chance at the ACC game after giving away two conference games due to Beck’s crappy play and Dawson’s predictability.
It seems like Dawson is mixing it up more; occasional motion, play action, off tackle, etc. And it seems Beck is no longer allowed to throw long passes. His long throws now are in the 15-20? yard range. Less hang time that way, I guess.
Almost 600 yards in total offense and 34 points, not too shabby.
Edit: The Miami Hurricanes last shutout an FBS opponent on 9/21/24 with a 62-0 victory over Ball State. Prior to that, their most recent shutout against a fellow FBS team was on November 20, 2004, when they defeated Louisiana Tech 48-0.
Miami’s most recent shutout of a Power Five opponent occurred in 2001, a 59-0 victory over Syracuse.
