As the case nears trial, people began realizing there’s not a lot of proof to support her claims. But the DA still wants to move forward - to the point where he becomes dishonest about the evidence (this DA would later be disbarred).
Turns out she made the whole thing up (she admitted it). But obviously, the reputations of these kids were ruined.
