You poor little thing…I asked you a question. You can’t handle the question…one simple question.
I listed foreign aid to point out the priories of the administration relating to our economy here, not to say it’s causing inflation.
Supply and demand and money supply are obvious factors.
Who cares though. The point is how are people going to react. It isn’t a narrow fantasy, it’s an interesting election. One that you likely won’t like the result of.
Exaggerating to make a point. I never said they used litter boxes in school. There are kids that walk around the halls pretending to be animals. You dispute that?
If you do, you must have more insight in Dallas than the kids that actually, you know, go to the schools.
Spending money domestically won’t fix inflation. Again, all I asked you was what you think causes inflation. So far, you’ve had 5-6 posts trying to avoid answering a simple question.
Funny, you conservatives have SUCH a problem with Ukraine, but NO problem whatsoever with any other spending…do you know how much we spend in Israel on an average year? I don’t hear anything about that. Do you know how much we pay Israel and Egypt not to fight? Nothing about that. Afghanistan, Israel, Jordan, Egpy, Iraq, Ethiopia, Yemen…not a word, not ever. BUT…when it’s a war against your beloved Russia…you can’t shut up about it.
Shows your party’s lack of patriotism. You’re faketriots.
Obviously it’s the stimulus checks. The last of which were 100% unnecessary.
Next question?
Sure, buddy. Sure.
https://nypost.com/2022/11/03/joe-rogan-finally-admits-that-school-furry-litter-box-hoax-was-a-lie/
So, let me get this straight…the first 3 checks were necessary, but the last one…that wasn’t. That’s your premise? Also, your assertion is that the stimulus checks alone are what caused our inflation? I want to be clear…is that what you’re stating?
I voted for 5 different parties this cycle. Including Republican.
Wow, I didn’t even know that there were that many on the ballot. I voted for 2. Zero Republicans.
I usually don’t read your articles but I did read the Slate article this time.
You might be surprised to find out (in case you didn’t read it) that they don’t dispute that kids pretend to be animals at school!
They just said the hysteria over the furry craze is overblown.
I’ll stand by the accounts of people that I know in the area where I live.
Your articles are pretty cool. They basically have quotes from school systems disputing the furry trend. That’s really scientific!
I heard about this over two years ago by the way. My response was WTF?
Nope, it’s not all the stimulus. Supply chain issues definitely factor in.
And yes, the first few stimulus checks contributed as well. Republicans aren’t blameless.
“Fusion Voting” allowed me to achieve this number.
You mean, as opposed to “I have a friend who told me…”, like your source material?
Ok.
Curious as to your take on corporate profits contributing to inflation and if any of it is artificial?
Nah…When it’s this much spending on any war anywhere else.
$1.6 trillion on Iraq and $2.31 trillion on Afghanistan
He said, she said right?
I mean, the conversation I had was unprompted and much earlier than the news media started addressing it.
Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. I’m sure it’s not 100% made up, but it could certainly be embellished.
I don’t know why you are dying on this hill. Like, nuh uh, I read this article that doesn’t dispute kids act like animals but basically says it’s not a big deal.
You really enter a lot of middle schools huh? You have any friends who have kids or any kids of your own?
I’m guessing that’s a no. Believe what you want. Just know that the articles you posted don’t disprove my contention.
Viable, okay. You’ve made your position clear and I had it incorrect. Won’t read me making that incorrect statement again. Reasonable
Lots. I’m 46
Well, the articles are sourced material and you have a friend who told you some shit, and then your position was that it’s “probably” real in some way without any support or evidence…but, still…not as bad of a position as I thought you had in believing they have litter boxes in schools and shit.
Smoke/fire…probably something there isn’t that outlandish of a stance. Then again, the original statement was a satirical article and it was mainstreamed by a guy who today admitted he lied about it, but still…
If you’ve noticed, I am definitely a dick, but not unreasonable. As long as you have a reasonable position. even if I disagree, I usually give it credence and support it in context. It’s the crazy shit that flies in the face of reality I can’t stand and fight against.
As far as predictions go, both house and Senate “should” go to Pubs. Lots of 50/50s but I’ll remain skeptical of the populace writ large.
I’m not familiar enough with the politics to make a decent prediction.
^ This is my gut feeling too, though, or maybe Dems keep the Senate.
I don’t think there will be huge surprise shifts to the Pubs across the board in unexpected places.
I totally agree with this. Even though our economy is not really that bad right now, voters will feel the inflation and vote based on it.
Economy is almost always the #1 issue for voters.
I do think skeeter has a point that the Pubs have lost some support because of Roe, but I’m not sure how drastically this will shift things.
First off, these billions have already been allocated. There’s no “new money” being sent.
Second, much of the value Ukraine is receiving is the worth of the already-existing equipment that is mothballed in warehouses. These weapons are the result of decades of US investment. They exist for one purpose and one purpose only: to destroy Russian armor. Giving Ukraine weapons is actually more valuable than not because we are finally enjoying the fruits of our investment.
The destruction of the Russian military is coming much cheaper than anyone could have ever predicted, and it is clearing the way for a whole new round of weapons investments that the US needs to refocus on China in the 21st century.
This is why there is wholesale bipartisan support for Ukraine.
